When: During the hallucination plot; shortly after this.
Summary: Thanks to the plot, Shiki's hallucinating that Neku wants to kill her again, and Joshua comes by to make sure she's alright.
Warnings: Shouldn't be any, really.
Shiki sat against the wall in the main room of Nyi-Eksi, one hand carefully placed against her throat. How could that have been a hallucination? She could still feel his fingers around her neck; the pain of hardly being able to breathe, and the fuzzy darkness that almost signaled her lapse into unconsciousness had a voice from the PDA not sent her attacker away.
Under her other arm was the somewhat squirming form of Mr. Mew, activated by her psych minutes ago and looking to break free of the restraining grip she had on him. She hadn't actually wanted the cat to hurt Neku despite the situation, and she didn't want him to accidentally hurt Joshua when he came. He would stay animated, though. She knew she couldn't keep Joshua around forever, and she couldn't hide behind Beat every time something went wrong. If Neku came back, she'd have to handle it herself. But for now... it was alright to cling to what she had, right?
