When Econtra went through a quiet period, there were few distractions. Normally this would suit Siegfried well enough. However, currently he would take any distraction he could find as long as it kept his mind off of his feelings for Pegasus. Even stargazing would suffice.
And yet Siegfried had found himself unable to resist the temptation to invite Pegasus to join him. He tried to justify himself by saying that he simply thought it would be something Pegasus might enjoy. The invitation was merely a friendly gesture.
Siegfried checked his reflection in the mirror one last time, and then glanced at the packed picnic basket. He'd raided the closet for a sheet to sit on, for he wouldn't risk grass stains on his precious clothes. There was a thermos filled with hot coffee, some cups, and sandwiches Siegfried had thrown together from leftovers. The only thing Siegfried didn't have was a telescope. He didn't want to bother with carrying one, and wasn't certain he would know how to set one up if he had one.
Deciding that it was time to go, Siegfried gathered his basket and headed to the park. He'd scouted out a spot earlier that seemed to have a clear view of the night sky. It was on a hillock near the lake. If no shooting stars could be seen, the night could still be salvaged with an evening swim.
