Characters: OU!Marufuji Ryou, AU!Yuki Judai
Where: The Park
When: Some point while Judai has Johan captive, but before he tells OU!Juudai that he does.
Summary: AU!Judai has been furious over what happened to Ryou. He has yet to get Ryou's view of the matter, until now.
Warnings: Nothing really.
Ryou was, once again, underneath a tree in the park, sorting through his cards. There were few holdovers from his former decks, but some had remained: the Cyber Dragons and Cyber End Dragon, for one, and of course, Cyber Phoenix. He stared at that one for a while, eyes shifting here and there in a vain attempt to see the spirit that, according to Yusuke, had been around him for a while.
Was that...something? He thought that he saw something out of the corner of one eye, but it was hard to be certain. Rather than strain himself in frustration, he put the card to the side, and began to look through some of the newer ones.
They were Cyber cards, of course. That was the nature of his deck, one he should never have forgotten. Perhaps if he'd tried that when he'd had that duel with the Juudai who had brainwashed him, things might have ended differently. Still, he wasn't going to fret about it. What was done was done and they had both learned from the situation.
And now there was another Juudai around, one who apparently wasn't just going to forgive and forget what had happened. And who wasn't even going to ask about the situation. Ryou considered that a mark of a child, refusing to learn what had happened before losing one's composure over the matter.
He kept on sorting through the cards, thinking in the back of his mind that perhaps he would find that Juudai and have a talk with him. But not at the moment. Getting his deck into dueling condition was his first priority, as it had been for months now. Finding the proper Cyber cards was difficult, as the Indigeo didn't always get the right kind of booster packs. He was accumulating quite a pile of cards he couldn't use, however.
But he thought he was much closer than he had been. A new line of Cyber monsters had possibly been introduced somewhere, and he enjoyed some of their effects. He decided that this deck would be called his Cyber Fantasy deck, for a fantasy fulfilled.
He picked up one of the cards and examined it thoughtfully. Cyber Hydra. Interesting. Very interesting.
He kept on working, quite content, all things considered.
