There was knocking indeed, courtesy of the young mechanic standing in the hall outside of Yil-Pente. Kaylee had a simple formula for finding people, really, perhaps inelegant but, given the relatively low population of the compound, not entirely ineffective. She rapped several times upon the apartment door, then stood, weight shifting from foot to foot in a manner that bespoke energy more than impatience. She was interested in what the priest might have to show her.
And she wanted to win the game. Just a little. Just a tiny wee bit.
