The Rumor had no intentions of joining, none whatsoever. But still. That didn't mean she couldn't have a little fun here while it lasted and she needed something to do between the coats of paint drying on the walls of her new office.

Slicking back her blue hair with a hand, Rumor sauntered over to the tables, knowing full well that this was where it was all going down. Not hard to tell, what with the dorky symbol and all. Her Umbrella was a lot cooler in her opinion, but she was clearly biased.

With a smirk, flashing teeth, she addressed Live Wire, "Not late, am I, babe?"

And the Rumor did not leave a particularly strong impression on anyone besides LiveWire, who she appeared to be flirting with. This would not bode well-immediate argument, Brainy predicted as he observed the woman from his place near the three offering shade from the sun's glare. He analyzed her carefully, casting a glance to the others as they arrived.

"Right on time." LiveWire replied. Leaning his chin against his robotic palm, and elbow against the table. He caught Brainy looking, but with the grave expression on the other's face? Probably had some opinions about Rumor. It was probably for the best, they had never actually done a Audition with a crop of applicants who all had effective powers. No Color Kid or Porcupine Pete this round. It was probably why LiveWire finally agreed to it.

That and Brainy always seemed to know what was going on ahead of time.

That green kid was looking at her funny. Rumor had to try hard not to laugh, finding it amusing. She supposed she hadn't made the best of impressions on anyone there yet, what with the whole Dr. Horrible thing and then turning Lyle's hair meet, but come one. It was cool.

Cocking a hip to the side, placing a hand on it, the other fiddling with locks of short blue hair, she shot a smirk over at Brainy before turning her attention back to Live Wire. Her? Trying to seduce him? Never! "So this all you have for your little auditions?"

Lyle appeared in one of the chairs that had been set up earlier that morning. Sitting in the seat backwards, his arms crossed and resting on the back part, he regarded the gathering group of applicants with interest. This was one of the first Tryouts he'd get to be a part of. Upon seeing Rumor, the teen unconsciously tugged at the white skull cap he'd jammed on his head in an attempt to hide her handy work.

"Hi. You must be Rumor." Invisible Kid glanced at the other three Legionnaires, wondering if they should start the try out then or wait a little bit.

Brainy returned to his seat after surveying the other approaching applicants. This audition was different in that it was a public spectacle, due to their limited resources. They would be taking a building or room for their operations soon, which would make any further exploits a bit more confidential.

"If you'd like to begin, Rumor, we'd all like to see what you can do."

"I already got your friend over there, but if you really want to see," Rumor shrugged, grinning brightly over at Lyle. The cap didn't matter -- she knew what she had done to his hair and pleased. Of course, she still wanted pink hair herself, so...

"I heard a rumor that my that hair is pretty fucking awesome and started to grow streaks of pink. Like, right now." And it was so, streaks of pink appearing in her hair faster than they could blink. It was an absolutely mundane use of her powers, but she didn't care to impress quite at the moment.

As cool as it was, as interesting as it was, Garth was left momentarily confused. Still, he grinned, total manipulation, if what, everything? Could be useful. "Well, that is a useful skill. You think you could demonstrate how you handle yourself in battle, cos that's really the kind of thing we're looking for here.."

Man, he hoped she did, but deep down, he had a feeling she was done. That was it, wasn't it? Okay, so he had a little crush, and it was hardly anything. Girl was hot, bout it. He cringed a little, feeling Brainy's eyes piercing the back of his head.

If he thought that was it, Live Wire was in for a surprise. While Rumor wasn't the best fighter on the team (that was better left for Kraken's aggression and Spaceboy's super strength), she was still fairly skilled when it came to hand to hand combat. It was best reserved for when there were things around that the hero couldn't make rumors out of.

"'Course I can. What the hell kind of hero do you think I am if I can't handle myself in a fight?" Rumor rolled her eyes. Geez, some people. Seriously.

"Yeah? Who knows- Prove it."

Oh. Serious face. Probably not a good sign. Voice absolutely dripping with sarcasm, Rumor replied, "How do you want me to prove it, boss?"

"Surprise me.." No nonsense voice. He read her posts. She didn't want to take this seriously now? Fine.

"Thing is, if you don't want to be in this group, you could just walk away right now. Nobodies keeping you here. If you're serious? You give it your all. Impress us. Changing your hair color? Please. Worse than color kid..

Lighting Lad, as always, never failed in delivering the brutally honest, though not quite as brutal as Brainy could be. He cast his teammate a curt, irritated expression before looking back to Rumor.

"Agreed. If you intend to assist us, I would recommend showing something that can be used effectively in battle."
