[Thread] Going nowhere, thinking nothing

Aug 15, 2008 22:23

Characters: AU!Sarah Williams, OPEN
Where: The church and graveyard
When: Middle of the afternoon
Summary: Sarah, feeling restless, decides to go for a walk.
Warnings: None yet, really. High chance of Crazypants freak-out.

Dried and dressed after a shower, Sarah slipped into a simple, white summer dress, the bottom hem falling down below her knees. Foregoing shoes, she padded barefoot through the kitchen, grabbing herself two apples, tucking one into the front pocket of her dress. She exited the apartment, making her way from the building, starting down the street towards the church, humming softly to herself. Her hair dried in loose curls, the damp ends still sticking to her slender, pale shoulders. She pushed open the large, heavy door of the church, the room dark. Small beams of light coming in through broken places in the windows, cutting through the darkness.

Sarah sauntered forward, continuing to hum as she took a bite out of the juicy, red apple, making a happy sound as she approached the altar. Her dark hair slipped off her right shoulder as her head canted to the left and she looked up at the front of the church. Symbols filled the room. Symbols of faith, many intact, others shattered or covered with cobwebs. She stood directly in front of the altar and the tune she hummed shifted from some nonsense tune to one she'd learned in Sunday school over a decade before. Sarah began to sway with the music, lifting the apple occasionally, taking another bite, a little of the juice slipping down her chin.
