This just couldn't be happening. The strange changes in so many of the people, Yuuko's supposed death, all of the panic ... it was almost surreal. And Luke had been doing his best to deal with it, really he had. He was stressed beyond belief at the fact that Zelos had been one of the ones changed, not to mention everyone else he was close to that had been ... and Luke himself wanted to make sure that everyone not affected was alright. He wanted to keep them safe, at least until they could fix everything. He wanted to give them the means of figuring it out by banding everyone together in a place where they didn't have to be afraid of what was going on.

The latest conversation had been the worst of it; he'd intended just to tell him to back off of the other Luke, to tell him not to mention the truth behind him, and instead, he'd blown up. Something had happened, maybe it was the stress, maybe it was that desire to protect, maybe it was his concerns. Luke didn't know, he just knew that something had happened to him, something had spoken through him, and then he was left with a headache. He hadn't said a word as Jade got to Ast-Okto, instead just pushing past him, and there had been no question from the man about it. At the very least, Luke knew that he could trust that everyone would be safe in his hands.

Lorelei ...

He collapsed to his knees as he got to the center of the Commons, wrapping his arms around his chest. "No ... st... ...n't d... ... ..." It was his own voice, he could tell that it was, but his words were fading, broken. They sounded exactly like Lorelei's voice always did to him in his mind. His skin tingled, his ears were standing up straight and his tail bristled, and then, without any warning, a fire burst forth from him, not painfully and only lukewarm at best, spreading out in spirals before shooting upwards, spreading across nearly the entire Commons.

Luke threw his head back, mouth open in a soundless scream.
