Characters: OU!Kaiba Seto and AU!Jounouchi Katsuya Where: In the park When: Sometime after Kaiba's unfortunate regression Summary: Kaiba meets the new Jounouchi at last Warnings: Kaiba and Jounouchi in a scene unsupervised?
He wasn't quite sure how, but Jounouchi had managed to avoid this round of this place exploding. Which, in his mind, was a good thing - with all of the residue from the magic that had made it happen floating around, he was getting another headache. Though, this one was bearable, just a small pulsation that was more an annoyance than anything - if he'd been affected, it would probably be worse right now.
Still, fresh air would only help it, so he was taking a brief walk in the park. And who should he stumble across but...
Hearing his name spoken by such a familiar voice, Kaiba turned around and saw Jounouchi there. The very subject of his thoughts...sort of. He blushed lightly, as though he'd been caught doing something he shouldn't do. But other than that and a slight widening of his eyes, his expression remained calm, unshaken.
"Jounouchi," he replied. "Fancy meeting you here."
"Wasn't expecting to see you either," Jounouchi replied. It was, admittedly, odd, having to look down at the CEO, though a part of him found it oddly humorous.
(Of course, that was the same part that bothered to ponder the whole past-life thing, which meant that Jounouchi was ignoring it.)
He did notice Kaiba's slight facial feature changes, but he brushed them off. After all, how was he supposed to know what Kaiba had been like as a kid?
"Well then," he said, glaring up at the now-older boy. He wondered what there was to say; this situation was much too awkward, much too confusing for him to deal with right now. If only he were still his eighteen year old self! That would have made things a little easier.
He turned his eyes away, getting tired of staring up. ". . . I suppose you could tell me," he said after a moment, "what your world is like, if you're not the Jounouchi that was here before."
A part of Jounouchi wanted to ask why exactly it was that Kaiba wanted to know, anyway, especially since he'd made it so clear that he didn't care about him. But, he shrugged it off to simple curiosity. Even Kaiba was allowed to have that.
"Well," he replied, "I dunno if I can give you an exact comparison, seeing as I don't know what the me that was here before was like. But according to what Yugi and everyone told me, there are some things that happened where I come from that didn't happen to them, and there are other things that happened to them that didn't happen to me."
Still, fresh air would only help it, so he was taking a brief walk in the park. And who should he stumble across but...
"Kaiba."
