[ENDGAME] Stage 4; Allegory

The atmosphere is a seething, crackling mass of solid Entropi. They bump into one another, passing through and generating wide arcs of lightning, seeming like the whole racial ( Read more... )

This may be the wrong place to post questions, but for the dueling scenario: are the characters actually facing off with their companion, or is it a hallucination? I would guess the latter.

Yes, they're all hallucinations.

Two more questions. Sorry.

1. Do the characters have their communicators? I imagine they can't reach anyone else if they're caught in one of the illusions.

2. If a character does succumb to the dream, is s/he completely dead? End of game for them, etc? Or are you not telling? ~_^

1. The communicators don't leave their physical possession, but in the hallucinations they're not present.

2. Dead as in, dead.

[Pegasus's Dream] i_own_i2 March 19 2009, 02:14:27 UTC
Pegasus blinked, and blinked again, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. A moment ago, he had been ... what had he been doing? It was already hard to remember. Now he stood in an unfamiliar place, a garden - a hedge maze, really, though he seemed to have wandered into the center of it somehow. From where he stood, he could see neat walls of rosebushes, so heavy with flowers that it was almost impossible to see the greenery, and the scent was so thick he felt he could have scooped it up in his hands to drink like water.

"Pegasus!"

He turned, slowly, not sure whether to be afraid or overjoyed. He knew that voice. He'd thought he'd never hear it again.

In the next instant, a pair of arms was flung around him, and he smiled in spite of himself. That was his Cyndia: always so charmingly impulsive.

"I knew I would see you again someday," she said, burying her face against his chest. "I just knew you wouldn't let me down ( ... )

Keyes didn't know how it happened, how he got back to his home universe, but suddenly he just was there and he didn't have the time to wonder about it. He was back where he left off; back in the room with the marines being swarmed by an unknown hostile alien life-form ( ... )

When Asuka woke up, it wasn’t to the bed that she had come to know as her own for the last… well, nearly a year, now. It wasn’t to the familiar setting of the inside of one of the apartments, or even inside at all ( ... )

It was precisely the question that had been plaguing her for months - she didn’t belong in Econtra, she didn’t feel as though she could belong in her home world, other worlds already had a version of her who did belong already, while she herself belonged nowhere ( ... )

Atem's death queenofgames March 19 2009, 10:30:54 UTC
Atem blinked, looking around her in confusion. One moment, she was sitting cross-legged in a tree by the lake, the next, standing in the midst of complete and total desolation. She could see the remains of shattered buildings all around her, and her heart contracted painfully in fear. She was in Neocontra, but not the Neocontra she knew ( ... )
