Happiness, Day 5
So....

Day 5: Figuring out how to get the eleventy billion Christmas songs on my iPod holiday playlist to shuffle among themselves
I had cleverly built a smart playlist in iTune that pulled in everything in the genres "holiday" and "Christmas" -- but couldn't get the playlist to shuffle within itself. Why? Because I'd also tagged those songs as "omit from shuffle," which is great when you don't want them coming up in say June, but turns out to block *any* shuffling involving them.
The solution: In iTunes, go to the playlist. Hold down the shift key to select all the songs. Right click; on menu, choose Get Info. When it asks if you want to change something on all those songs, say okay. Make sure the "omit from shuffle" box isn't checked. Agree to anything iTunes asks. That's it!
BTW, to make stuff shuffle within a playlist? On the home screen of your iPod, choose shuffle --> by song. Then within any given playlist, start the playlist by hitting the "play" button, not the big center button.
