Yeomen thoughts and updates - filter?

With the start of rehearsals for this year's show with the Durham Savoyards, I'll probably be posting a lot of play updates. Do you all think I should have a filter for them?

Yesterday was the first cast sing-through. I hope a lot of the tenors were absent, since we only had three stage chorus tenors and one Royal chorus (singers not involved in the play action; for those not familiar with the Carolina Theatre there are boxes on either side of the stage that the Royal chorus sits in), and of those only one was an actual male. It was fun seeing kibarika and tribalkittykat again. I found out that I am going to be a Yeoman after all; all of the stage chorus "men" will be Yeomen and the Royal chorus men will be singing the People's parts. Might be a bit odd to have male voices in the People's chorus when there are no men with them onstage XD

...I hope, but don't think it likely, that my costume will fit. The Yeomen's costumes are pretty expensive to make, and since it's not one of the major shows in the Gilbert and Sullivan canon we only perform it once every 12 years or so; so it makes more sense to rent the costumes than to spend the time and effort making them. As I said before, I kind of doubt they carry those costumes in sizes small enough to fit me.

Yeomen isn't as slapstick a show as the typical Gilbert and Sullivan operetta. It has comic bits but it's definitely toned down a lot from the silliness of H.M.S. Pinafore. I don't think I can use my size for comic effect as easily as I did last year. Also the Yeomen are supposed to be mostly middle-aged, accomplished retired military men. Definitely can't pull the cute cabin-boy trick I used last year to be somewhat believable. Maybe I can be a little old man or something. Grey my hair, draw some age-lines, maybe a (sorry princesslucia!) a grey beard XD Although the makeup designer is making those decisions, not me.

kibarika, tribalkittykat and I already have plans to have our makeup tables together on the Cool People's Wall.
