and stiff and sore. yard work is evil that way. Dad and i spent most of the day yesterday prying railroad ties out of the ground. okay, he did most of the lever work while i slid in wedges, but i did do some digging around posts and had a fun session whacking a post with a mini-sledge. good for aggressions, bad for weak shoulders. *l* i also totally manhandled a rhododendron out of the ground. Dad cut some of the roots and used the pry bar to lever the root ball up some, then i grabbed the branches and ripped that sucker out. i felt so buff and accomplished. : )
we went to a pancake house for breakfast this morning (yummy!) then did some shopping. Gwen ordered the glider she wants from Babies R Us, and i bought yarn to make scarves for Mom and Gwen. they both chose colors in the Lion Suede that i used to make my cardigan, so i get to work with that yarn again. i'm so upset. really. ; )
came home and took a nap before going back out into the yard. i pretty much only pulled up unwanted plants this time though. yeah, i'm a wuss. there'll still be plenty of heavy duty work to do for the next few weeks. Gwen made shrimp picatta for dinner, then i made everyone watch Bon Cop, Bad Cop. i think they liked it well enough, but i don't think they liked it as much as i do. oh well. that's okay. can't expect your family to have perfect taste. ; )
anyway, i did manage to do some writing Thursday night (over 400 words!), but i didn't do any last night. i considered doing some more tonight, but i think i've spent too much time messing around here online. oh well. it's the weekend, right?
