got up at a decent time again today...but didn't come into work at a decent time. CL and i started the morning by going to
Mountain Equipment Co-op. ooooooh, outdoor store. happy me. and the MEC is a majorly Canadian thing, so i guess it's good that i finally made it there. for those of you from the states, think REI but slightly more technical. all their clothing and garments have descriptions that tell what they're best used for. how cool is that? i got a new pair of ski gloves and some Christmas gifts for the Daddy-man. was super, super tempted by the rack of snowshoes. i used to love snowshoeing. i've never tried modern snowshoes, but i bet i could get used to them pretty fast. they even had
purple ones. but i was good and resisted. gotta get my backcountry skis out and use them first. besides, apparently MEC members (and you have to become a member to buy stuff..$5 for life) can rent stuff from the store. i can work with that. : )
after we got done shopping, we went back to my apartment and relaxed until it was time for CL to go pick up her dad from the airport and head up to Tremblant. had some lunch. i boiled cheese tortellini while CL made a sauce of fresh basil, garlic, olive oil, lime juice, salt, and pepper. very yummy. : ) so i didn't get to school until nearly 1 o'clock, but i don't care. better to spend some time with my friend while i can. saw some snowflakes as i walked to the building, but they don't seem to have turned into a snow storm.
so, apparently i forgot to pay back the loan i took to cover my summer tutition. just happened to go to my online account and i saw the hold. oops. i'm usually so much more on the ball than this. in fairness to myself, however, i will note that the bill was only due October 28...and they never sent me a bill. i mean, come on guys, my memory is for shit. i can barely remember that i took that loan, much less the date it needed to be payed back. and i guess in comparison to four years of big, whopping US student loans, my subconscious filed it as relatively unimportant. but i think i have that all straightened out now. online banking is a wonderful thing. but, bleh, now i have to get back to work.
