partying and staying in

so, the Catherine Willows costume came together decently, and i trooped off to Marc's Halloween party.  wasn't as wild and crazy as last year, but i still had fun.  of course, i often have more fun when it isn't wild and crazy.  we finished off the night by watching The Life Aquatic.  now, Marc totally loves this movie and my parents hated it.  i was skeptical going in.  but it was okay.  not a bad movie, though not one that is likely to grace my DVD shelf.  just a little too random for my general entertainment needs.  there were only four of us left standing by that point, and i was the only one who stayed awake for the whole movie.  of course, that's to be expected; even when i'm exhausted, i rarely fall asleep in front of a movie that i haven't seen before.  i wasn't really tired either, though.  bad me and my off the wall sleeping schedule.  i got home at about a quarter to six, but i wasn't really ready to sleep yet.  needed to wind down from being around people.  i'm turning into such a hermit.  anyway, i didn't feel like reading, so i decided to watch another episode of Fruits Basket...which turned into three episodes.  oops.  so i didn't get to sleep until almost eight.  this is not gonna help me make that ten o'clock lecture Wednesday morning.

woke up mid to late afternoon-ish.  it was actually kinda sunny, and  i'm sorry i missed most of the day.  i decided to take advantage of the remainders, though, so i walked over to the camera shop to pick up the photos that i took with Dad's Nikon.  nothing special on the roll.  oh well.  when i got back, i still had enough light to finally get some work done on packing up the garden for the winter.  not that i really did that much.  harvested the last of the tomatoes (all two of them) and the bell peppers (none of which ever actually ripened).  i brought all the ceramic pots indoors so they won't shatter in the cold.  i'll leave the plastic pots out there though.  they're cheap enough that i can replace them if need be...plus it's not like i have anywhere to put them inside.  i'm trying to decide if i should rip out the tomato bushes now or let them get all dry and crispy first.  same with the pepper plants.  the bean plants are already dry and crispy; i just haven't gotten to the ripping out part yet.  the strawberries are inside now.  they're an alpine species, so i probably could have left them outside over the winter.  as they're in ceramic pots, however, that's not happening.  guess i'm pretty close to being done with gardening for the season.  though i guess i could plant some bulbs or something.  hmmmm...

spent the rest of the day being a total lazy bum and not cleaning like i told myself i would.  damn i suck at housekeeping.  the floor in front of the bookshelves is actually growing fuzzies.  i mean, how long have i ignored dustmopping?  i felt the sudden urge to start cleaning not long ago, but i also feel like i should go to bed.  how's that for a dilemna?  as i have just yawned, though, i guess my decision is made.  but i must remember to reset the rest of my clocks.  stupid daylight savings.
