Day 28 - Favorite film from your favorite director

Jun 15, 2010 18:30

I passed the hell out when I got home from work yesterday, so this is me playing catch-up. Again.

These are the frontrunners for the favorite director nods, along with my favorites of theirs, in no particular order. Some of them have been used already, so they're out...

Quentin Tarantino- Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, Grindhouse, Kill Bill pts. 1 & 2, Sin City (sort of)
Guillermo Del Toro- Hellboy, Hellboy 2, Pan's Labrynth
Guy Ritchie- Sherlock Holmes, Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels; Snatch, RockNRolla
Chan-wook Park- Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, Joint Security Area
Luc Besson- The Fifth Element, Léon, District B13 shit, I thought he directed that...
Takashi Miike- Gozu, Ichi the Killer

Mmmm... hard to pick. Just to be different and throw something a litle different in, I'm going to go with Hellboy 2. I can watch it again and again. It's fun, creates an awesome new world full of interesting creatures, has some cool fights, a lot of humor, and Hellboy is just one of my favorite characters. I'm so glad I was able to overcome my childhood fear of Ron Perlman (Screw you, Beauty and the Beast).
