Can I answer for G and say "no"? Well, that is just for me actually. There are few bands I would drive over an hour to see, and fewer movies.

Should be fun though, enjoy the trip. I recommend getting to Phoenix around Noon because they are likely to have given away more tickets then there are seats.

kryptongirl and I will have a great time. Its such a ridiculous and spur of the moment thing to do so it will be an adventure. Despite that I'm sure there isn't a movie in the world worth the price of gas to drive for 9 hours, the adventure will be priceless.

I don't travel to see bands anymore unless they are Counting Crows but that is more because I spend my vacation time now camping with my son or going to burlesque conventions.

Greg is pretty particular about seeing movies on a good screen with a good sound system. I have a hard time believing he wouldn't want to see the movie on an 80 foot screen. David was teasing him last night about it and Greg thought it was pretty funny. *shrug*

There is an IMAX about an hour from here, but they aren't getting the early showing. I will likely see TDK on a regular screen opening weekend and might make a trip to the IMAX later on. Definitely let us know how it is.

Me being me had no idea that they were converting films to IMAX for the last 5 years. I think IMAX and immediately assume dinosaurs! I think its interesting that they filmed some scene on IMAX film so I am curious about that. I am totally out of the loop about movies. ;)

I'm going to go with David on Thursday night (probably at 4 Hills with Greg if they ever put their tickets up). I'll post if the IMAX experience is worth it.

I hope its not a pain in the ass to get in at Phoenix. It had crossed my mind what a pain in the ass sneak previews are and I'm hoping that this was kept exclusive enough it won't be. I know when we get tix for them here the tickets always say, "first come first serve". Looks like we'll be driving all night Monday.

And that's fine too, we're troopers and gas stations carry Starbucks espresso shots for a reason. ;) I really think they didn't oversell too much just because of the capacity of the theatre and the # on our tickets. #24 out of 114 in a 400 person theatre isn't too bad, but better safe than sorry.

It will be great! It doesn't sound like its oversold. Awesome. I don't know when I want to leave. I can be flexible.

The tickets are numbered. I haven't looked up the capacity of the theatre, but my ticket say #24 of 114 and it admits two.

I just checked, the capacity of the screen is 450, and they gave away 228 seats.

Seriously! I called the theatre, and they said that no other fuctions or groups were invited to the theatre so we may only be half full all night.
