Hornets Invade Milpitas Lawns

Jul 14, 2010 22:55

Milpitas, CA has recently been struck by an unlikely plague: hornets. These bumblebee-lookalikes have been seen in yards across Milpitas, from Hamilton Avenue all the way to Gil park. Fortunately, however, they do not seem to be vicious. "They seem like they're just trying to get water and shade" says Milpitas resident Toby Librande.

If you see the bees, please do not try to antagonize them. If you leave them alone, they'll leave you alone. And remember, the sting of a hornet can cause severe allergic reactions in some people. Don't know if you'll react? You probably don't want to find out the hard way.

"Bee" safe.
