AMAZING weekend
I had the most amazing weekend I've ever had!!!!! Matt and I went to the upper pennisula to see his family for his cousin's wedding..it was great!!! I'll post ya on the whole weekend..
Friday- We were going to leave around 430ish, but Matt called me around 2 and said he was getting off work early and we could leave right away! So I picked him up, and we were on our way! It was a long car ride to Mackinac City. We stopped in the city to stay the night so we could go to Mackinac Island and spend time alone, before we went to see his family on Saturday. We got there around 7pm and checked into our hotel. Hung out there for a lil bit and decided to take the ferry to the Island for some dinner. We ate at a pub kind of place..it was really good and of ALL people, who do we see..YEP THATS RIGHT CHEF STEVE!!!!!!! at the table next to us...of all places in michigan..we see him on an ISLAND, 5 hours away at the same resturant and at the table next to us! We walked around the island after we ate..it was soooooooooooooooooo ROMANTIC omg..right by the water..seeing all the old victorian cottages..OMG i can't wait to go back there and spend a few days there with him. We got some fudge too..mmmmmmmmm Sorry jenn, we ate it all! we're fat! haha We left the Island around 1030 and headed back to the hotel...i took a nice hot shower cuz it was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cold!! we just cuddled and "stuff" and watched tv..and decided to go get some pop so I actually drove instead of matt...yeah BAD IDEA..i ran up a curb and got a flat tire!!!!!!!!!! lol we had to use the donut..we didnt get back to the hotel until like 2 am!
Saturday- We got up pretty early, and head towards Cedar Falls, where Matt's family was staying. It was about a 45 minute drive there, so it wasn't bad. We stopped to see his grandparents first. His grandma is soooooooo sweet! i love her! We left a few minutes after seeing them and went to the cabin where his family was. it was BEAUTIFUL THERE!!! the water was soooooooooo clear! his family was super nice when we got there...his mom hugged me and so did his sister! I've never seen brothers and sisters get along so well..it was sooo cute. Lousia (his sister) and I are exactly alike..i love it!! matt took me around the camping site to see it. it was absoulutly beautiful. He taught me to skip rocks..yeah i still can't do it..haha. we walked trhough the woods and sat by the water for awhile and just talked. then we got ready for the wedding..it was a nice wedding. really short but cute. after the reception matt, lousia, and i went back to the cabin and talked for a few hours..it was really nice. we were EXHAUSTED thats for sure.
Sunday-we got up around 9 and got ready for brunch with his family and the newleyweds. we ate at a cute lil diner..really good food thats for sure! we stayed for two hours or so then it was time for matt and i to head back home. We stopped by the water again and walked around to take it in one last time! we didnt wanna leave!!!!!! it was soooooooo peaceful there..we're going back for sure before the summer is over! the drive home wasn't too bad..long and i was realllllllllllllllllllllly tired, so i slept alot. When we got back matt and i took a lil nap before he headed back home. He took my car so i didnt have to drive him..he's coming back today so we can look for a new apartment for him....
well that was my weekend in a nutshell!
