Of Surprise Bird Toys and Further Convention Attendence
Yesterday I received a wonderful surprise gift from the kind people at www.birdybooty.com - a bunch of toys and a gift certificate to welcome the cockatiels back home! I know a lot of people speak highly of Birdy Booty, and now I'm one of them. Not only are they very kind and considerate, but their toys are simply amazing! Thank you to Rowan et al over at Birdy Booty, from me, Kynekh and the 'tiels. :>
Right now I'm putting the final touches on preparing for my Gryphon Panel at FC later on today. I'll be leaving in about an hour, get to the con by 1030, register, hunt down some friends, do the Panel at 2 in the afternoon, then relax and just take in the con itself. Even better, though, is that Kynekh will be coming, too! That was a VERY pleasant surprise.
I'm going to do something a little different at the Gryphon Panel this year. I've devised a small 'elimination tournament' test, comprised of esoteric gryphon knowledge. The last person standing - the one who answers the most right questions - will win a framed original piece of gryphon art created by Kynekh! The other panel attendees are going to get a special consolation prize, too. :p I'm going to run this like a classroom - I have my easel and flip-charts and job aids all ready to go. God, I love teaching!
