Of Nautical Thoughts

For the past couple of weeks I've been shuttling selasphorus to and from her cardiologist. She's had some flutteryness and general uneasiness, so she's just doing some precautionary tests and checks to make sure that her ticker is doing fine. Yesterday she had an ultrasound done on her heart, which seemed rather interesting yet weird when she was telling me about it.

Work was busy as all get out yesterday, and I was pretty much running non-stop, barely making it back home in time to get Pepper to her appointment. I think I caught a few winks in the waiting room. (I was sitting in a very inviting plush throne/chair thing.)

After work things got a bit nautical. I hooked up with seabhacson and tenaya_owlcat for the first time within the Wii game Endless Ocean : Blue World. It was really fun diving and just talking with them. The Wii Speak feature was kind of... muddled, I guess? It did its job, though, and I almost lost track of time exploring shipwrecks, and pointing out interesting sea life (and trying not to be stalked by a ravenous vulture).

After a good hour or so of diving kynekh_amagire suggested we watch Pirates of the Carribbean with Rifftrax. She offhandedly mentioned that rum would be a good addition to the pirate movie, but she only wanted pina coladas. For some reason we had a can of coconut milk and a can of pineapples in the pantry, and the rum is a given, so pina coladas were made.

About midway through the movieI ended up waxing nostalgic about my time onboard the EAGLE twelve years ago, talking with Kyn about how much I loved that boat, and the experiences onboard it. (And offboard it, such as being chased by an iguana on a deserted island on Thanksgiving Day.)

Mmmm..

Damn. Well, today is my class' graduation, and I need to get ready. This will be my 9th class in over 5 years... damn. Time for relaxation is over!
