I am a little bit coldy. I blame my husband, although the puppy induced lack of sleep probably doesn't help.
Hazel is mostly awesome. She doesn't really cry at night now, which makes me really happy. She also seems to be getting used to her kennel and last night while I was keeping her awake on purpose so that she would hopefully sleep better, she went in voluntarily and laid down--for about 3 seconds, before seeing Hampton (her snuggle bunny) and nomming his face off. Anyway, I really appreciated it because I was a little bit afraid that we were scarring her for life by making her sleep in there. She still seems to not be a big fan during the day though, I think the darkness helps.
Yesterday she had her first real bark. While she was asleep >_>. It was kind of the cutest thing ever. I'm glad that she doesn't bark all the time, I think that would drive me mad. I would be super glad if she didn't bite things all the time, but we'll get there. She is sleeping in my lap right now and twitching like an absolute fiend, which is really amusing. She also grinds her teeth when she is falling asleep, which I find more nerve-wracking than amusing.
I brought a blanket down yesterday morning and we napped on the floor together for like 3 hours >_>. When we were finished I rolled it up and set it out of the way. In the evening she was running and jumping up on it, having a grand old time. Eventually she got to the top of her puppy mountain and snuggled up. A few minutes later she rolled over in her sleep and fell to the floor, poor thing. She was fine though--she seems to not notice when she does things like run into the door jam or the stumps in the yard. She feels no pain!
I think we're going to have to try another bit of a wash tonight. She just doesn't seem to have gotten the hang of keeping herself clean. I don't know how she manages to even get so grubby. I think she tracks in her weight in dirt and grass every day. I really need to get the vacuum out but I'm afraid it will freak her out because the breeders had laminate floors and probably just swept and mopped.
I keep meaning to get on wii fit to see how much Hazel weighs. I'll have to remember that when she wakes up. I should also start doing washing and taking showers when it's just she and I. She is brave enough now that she will go into the next room by herself, although after about 30 seconds she will then start to whine and come running back. Bless. She really is cute :D This is good, or I might have to get rids of her. Not really, she is already well engraned as our baby.
