Characters: Dan Taichi and Akutsu Jin
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for language
When/Where: Tuesday the 24th, night, outside
What: Dan defends his interest for Akutsu, and then decides to do something about it. They are both surprised at the response, but blood gets spilled and the end isn't exactly happy.

Akutsu downed the last of his blood tablets, distracting himself as he patrolled an empty part of the campus again. It was shaping up to be a crappy night. He'd gotten text messages from his mom, bugging him. Damn teachers were loading him up with homework already, and he couldn't talk Gakuto into stopping with his constant stalking of the vampires.

And while he was on the subject of stalkers, he was starting to wonder where his own was, and stayed perfectly still, searching out the presence of the smaller vampire.

Akutsu wasn't too wrong in assuming Dan was there. Of course, he didn't stalk Akutsu all the time -- he did have classes, too, and a social life besides -- but he did quite often. And now was one of those times.

For some time Dan merely sat quietly in the tree he had chosen as a surveillance point, waiting to see what Akutsu was up to. Finally he decided there was only one possible reason for Akutsu to suddenly stop -- he was trying to locate something, or someone. And Dan hadn't noticed anyone else nearby.

Shifting a bit, he then slipped down from the tree. "Looking for me?"

"More like hopin' you were sick of playing monkey," Akutsu grunted, leaning against a wall and thinking about a cigarette. All this bitching among the humans about his habit was almost enough to get him to think about cutting back. Easier said than done, though. "Don't ya got anything better to do, shorty?"

"And if I'd just stayed up there, would you have stood silently all night waiting for me to show up?" Dan asked innocently, walking closer. "Oh, I have plenty of things to do desu. Like, you know, going swimming with humans. Sometimes I just prefer not to deal with the headache of having to hide my powers and rather do something else I like desu~"

"So why don't you go do that," Akutsu grumbled gruffly pulling his cigarette pack out of his pocket and contemplating the contents.

"I'm here, aren't I?" Perfect logic~!

"Meant something else, Shorty," the taller vampire frowned deeply. "You're not a damn puppy."

"I don't think I've ever claimed to be one desu," Dan pointed out, walking even closer. "I just find you interesting desu."

"Chase me around like one," Akutsu pointed out, withdrawing a cigarette and letting it slide through his long fingers. "Not a damn thing interesting about me."

"Plenty of things," Dan replied, eyes momentarily following the cigarette and the way Akutsu's fingers moved about it. "You're tall and strong~ and your mind works in strange ways sometimes, and you're kind of mean sometimes but sometimes not, and I don't understand you and your lips are warm and I don't want you to die desu."

"....And you're tellin' me my mind is strange?" Akutsu grunted, looking away. Shit...the kid was just embarrassing as hell, standing there spouting all that shit like they were good things. Like he had any good points whatsoever. He knew better.

"What's so strange about liking someone?" Dan asked quietly.

"Cause you're wasting your time."

"Many people waste their time with crushes that can never be desu," Dan pointed out. "Like the girl who wrote you a letter."

That made Akutsu's jaw tighten. "No one's got any business crushing on me," he bit out.

"You can't stop people from liking you," Dan said. "For what it's worth, she apparently wasn't very set in her ways, as that one rejection was enough to repel her, so you didn't exactly lose much desu." ...Why, yes, he was biased on the issue.

"Great. So how many do you need, Shorty?""

"...I'm not giving up." Dan gave him a confident look.

"I don't want you," Akutsu told him bluntly. "I dont' want anyone. Specially don't want a damn vampire."

"Maybe you don't, but I want you." And a cute little Aristocrat heir was quite used to getting everything he wanted. "And besides... you are a vampire. You can't have a human, you'd be a constant threat to them desu."

"Like I don't know that," the taller vampire snarled. He was at such a loss in this conversation. Ever since he'd gotten here, he'd been stalked, kissed, tempted, giggled over and given love letters. It was enough to make him lose it. "Why?" he asked finally. "Why me? Go fuck around with one of your little bloodsucker boys or something...."

"You are a bloodsucker boy." Wasn't that obvious? "And believe me, there are tons of people running after everyone else. I mean, some girls have even approached me desu. As for why I like you... I already gave you my reasons desu."

"Quit reminding me." Definitely uncomfortable--and very ticked because of it--Akutsu glared darkly at him. "You're fuckin' nuts."

"Am not." One moment, Dan was there, looking at Akutsu almost defiantly with his big, big eyes. The next, he was right under Akutsu's nose, hands reaching up to draw his head down even as the younger boy himself got up on his toes.

Even Akutsu's finely toned reflexes failed him as Dan claimed his lips. He was taken so much by surprise he didn't know what to do, and dropped his hands on the aristocrat's hips to steady himself.

Dan took full advantage of his surprise, kissing him for all he was worth. Akutsu would push him away again soon, so he'd better get as much out of it as he could, first.

Akutsu's eyes nearly crossed. Like hell this was a kiss like before...he had no clue where the vampire had learned to kiss like that, but he was sure he didn't like how his body was responding to it. He felt something wet, the tip of Dan's tongue slipping past his lips and sliding over a fang. It must have pierced the skin a little, because he got the faintest hint of blood. It made his whole system clamor, and before he knew what he was doing, his hands had tightened on Dan's hips as his lust was stirred, kissing him back hard.

Dan was most certainly not complaining about the new turn of events. Sure, he still didn't think it was going to last, but that just meant he was going to enjoy it even more while it did, hands sinking into the taller vampire's hair. Akutsu's mouth was a whole new territory to explore, a new taste and feeling and everything, and while the kisses with Yuushi had been the good kind of strange experience, this was just... better. Much, much better, because this wasn't his occasionally annoying cousin, this was Akutsu. He was actually kissing Akutsu, and for this second at least, Akutsu was responding most enthusiastically indeed.

Inside Akutsu, two different kinds of lust were warring. The lust affecting his body and the bloodlust he kept barely quenched with the cursed blood tablets. Just the faint taste of Dan's rich vampire blood made him growl in the back of his throat, right before he sank his fangs into Dan's lower lip for more.

The sting of the bite made Dan moan a bit, but that was the only protest he gave. At least Akutsu's mouth was still on his.

One of Akutsu's hands found its way into Dan's hair, twisting the dark strands in his fist as he used it to crush the other's mouth against his more. He sucked on Dan's lip, the blood rushing into him. It was so damn good he didn't want to stop, but gradually it started to dawn on him what he was doing, and he jerked away, wiping at his blood-smeared lips.

Dan looked up at him with a slightly dazed look, tongue slipping out to wipe at his lip. "...Um," was all he managed to say.

The kiss was disconcerting enough, but on top of that, he'd drunk blood from a vampire. Eyes wide and as furious at Dan as he was at himself, he balled up his hands into fists. "You...." He couldn't even think of what to say, and turned to punch his fist through the nearest wall.

Well. At least the punch hadn't come at him. Not that he couldn't defend himself, but it was still better when the intent wasn't to harm him in the first place. "Yes?" he asked, trying to keep his voice calm. It did waver a bit, but otherwise, he thought he did a good job.

"Get outta here." Akutsu's voice was lethal and low, and he thought he might just punch his fist through something else.

For once, Dan didn't protest. He just nodded slowly, tongue still caressing his sore lip. A blink, and he was gone.
