School started on Monday and it was getting dark. Rin though didn't want to be inside, it should be safe, he decided. He talked to the head master earlier. He was now one of the school guardians. If he was found wandering the school grounds while dark he could always use that as an excuse after all, it was best to get yourself familiar with your work wasn't it? He dug his hands into his pockets peeking up at the night sky occasionally as he walked.
Leaning on a wall and chain smoking, Akutsu heard the blonde human before he even saw him. Tramping around like that, any vampire would hear him. And the same annoying twit from the internet. Looked like his luck was running true to form. He watched the blonde, but didn't say a word. Maybe the human would just keep walking, and leave him in peace.
Rin stopped for a moment feeling eyes on him. When he looked around and didn't see anyone he started walking again. It was just his imagination after all. Rin walked a little further and caught the smell of smoke. He wrinkled his nose up and made a face. What the hell was that disgusting smoke smell. Where was it coming from? Rin sniffed the air and followed the smoke. It was best to get such a smell out as soon as possible. He came across him and stopped. A sliver of light came across Akutsu and he frowned seeing him. The guy from the internet, he looked a lot more dangerous then he did online. Rin had told him though he never did listen to warnings. He moved forward seeing the cig in his mouth.
"You stink." He told him a frown on his lips, blonde hair falling over his shoulders.
Irritated that the blonde had sniffed him out anyway, Akutsu's answer was to flick the smoldering butt in his direction and light up another. He watched him wordlessly.
Rin smacked at it his foot coming down to grind the butt into the ground frowning at him more.
"So that's how you're going to play it." He moved forward to him and reached out quickly grabbing it from his mouth. "You know there's probably rules about this. Are you trying to kill everyone around you?" He asked. "It smells horrible."
Stopping himself just barely from baring his teeth---his fangs--at the blonde, Akutsu's hand snapped out instantly, catching the other guardian's wrist. With his other hand, he snatched the lit cigarette back, gave it a long drag before tossing the blonde's hand back at him.
"...Good."
Rin growled at him and reached out for it again. He didn't like the way the other just threw his hand around like that and he didn't like the smoking either. He watched him closely and moved forward to him.
"Just because it won't kill you doesn't mean you should kill the rest of us with it." He snapped.
Avoiding that annoying hand was easy enough. Akutsu's eyes anticipated the grabs, and all he had to do was shift his weight enough in a counter position to avoid it. It was darkly amusing, he thought. That he should care about the health of humans that wanted to protect vampires.
"Little princess can't take a hit of smoke, huh?"
"Who the hell you calling little princess?" He demanded lashing out with his arm again to snatch out at the smoke. He then moved with his other arm to try and get it from the other side at the same time.
"You stupid jerk, if you wanna die so bad, I’m sure we can find a couple of people to do it for ya." He hissed.
Getting tired of the antics fast, Akutsu sucked in a large cloud of smoke and sent it directly into the other's face. Since Rin wasn't exactly attacking him, he couldn't do what he wanted and put the snippy blonde on his ass like he wanted to.
Rin's lips parted to yell at him some more but he doubled over coughing as he inhaled the smoke. Oh god it was horrible. He coughed more glaring up at the vampire with narrowed eyes. The bastard was trying to kill him.
"As.." He trailed off having to cough against. "hole." He finished Rin stomped onto Akutsu's foot glaring unhappy.
Violence begets violence. Akutsu remembered that as part of his martial arts training when he was younger. His sensei had taught him a lot about only using what he knew as self defense. But the vampire liked the other phrase that summed it up quite well. An eye for an eye. A split second after Rin stamped on his foot, his was swinging around the blonde’s, sweeping and knocking him on his ass. "Keep walking," he growled at him.
Rin cried out as he landed on his ass and he let out a groan. "You bastard." He muttered. "You're stinking up the campus grounds and trying to kill half of us with the smell and then you're attacking me when my foot slipped." He huffed. Rin watched him still with narrowed eyes.
"Ass." He muttered standing up. Rin's fingers brushed down over his ass cleaning it off before shaking his blonde hair out glaring after deciding he wasn't hurt. "Stupid ass. if you'd just stop smoking I would have moved on."
"Nothing stopping you now, Princess," Akutsu snapped back, cigarette dangling from his lips.
"You're still smoking!" He huffed. "If you'd just put it out I’d leave." The blonde stopped and frowned even more. "Who the hell are you calling princess anyway? The name's Hirakoba Rin. I am not a damn princess."
"Leave and you won't have to smell it," the vampire countered. "Quit bitching like a girl, then."
"I wasn't near you and I could smell it." He muttered. Rin shook out his blonde hair frowning after a moment. "I am not bitching like a girl. I'm bitching like a person who doesn't want to die."
"Picked the wrong person to bitch too then. Get outta here."
"Ass." He moved forward quickly grabbing the cig and took off with it. "Calling me a princess, you stupid jerk. I'll show you."
Glaring, Akutsu only pulled the half empty pack out of his back pocket and tapped out yet another cigarette. He didn't go out of his way to show it off to the blonde, but Rin could certainly see him light up again, clearly.
Rin dropped the one he was holding stomping on it. "Bastard." He huffed stomping on it more then he needed to. He could see the other one lightening up again and he wanted to go back to snatch it away from him, but he wanted for the moment to calm own to. He was getting too agitated over the vampire.
"Yeah," Akutsu drawled back, looking away from him as he sucked down another lungful of smoke and let it out in a thin cloud. "Got a problem with that?"
"Stupid ass...stupid jerk...stupid." He glared at him. Rin though knew there was no chance of getting that cig from him. "You know you can wait...until I leave before you brought that one out...."
"Keep your damn distance then. Ya won't have to worry about it," the vampire shot back, idly flicking his thumb over the flint wheel of his lighter for a moment before tucking it back into his pocket.
"You...next time..." He warned him before storming off trying to rush away from the horrible smell and the horrible feeling of the smoke that lingered in his throat.
