Characters: Osakada Tomoka and Akutagawa Jirou
When: December 5th
Where: The Park
Rating: PG
Author's Comments: Picnics and cuddles~

The pigtail haired Day Class girl nearly fluttered out of the dorms with her rather large picnic basket in hand. The girl had prepared quite the spread of snacks for them to enjoy this time around; last time she hadn't had much time to prepare but she had put more thought into cooking this time. She was dressed warmly, or at least as warmly as she could remember running out last minute once she had finished making the food. Her scarf had been forgotten along with an extra layer of jacket to keep her completely warm but she didn't care. Tomoka's mind was too occupied with the excitement of seeing her friend again after not hearing from him in so long. The next time he decided to hibernate she had decided she would be joining him at this rate. As she reached the Dusk Dorm gates she caught her breath and looked around for her blond curly haired friend.

Jirou, on the other hand, was wrapped up tight, with multiple layers and an extra long scarf wrapped around his neck and the bottom half of his face. The hood of one of the three hoodies he was wearing was pulled up over his head. In his arms, he hugged a large duvet to his chest, stripped from his bed and messily folded on his way down the stairs of the dorm room. It made getting out of the door a little hard, but he still managed, stepping out the door backwards so he could close it again once he was outside. In the cold air, he shivered slightly, despite all his layers, and turned around. "Tomo-chan~!!" He called with a grin when he spotted her, running over to her.

"Jirou~!" she chimed back happily, not moving too much as she was holding onto the picnic basket. It didn't take Tomoka long to realize he had arrived and she couldn't help but laugh when she saw him run over. She was a bit worried he might fall over with all those layers; but at least he'd be cushioned. It was cute seeing him all bundled up like a marshmallow and made her want to cuddle him all the more. (No doubt she would be soon whenever the wind started blowing through her.)

The blond made to hug her but stopped and looked down at the blanket in his arms with a frown. Well, that was going to make this difficult... He decided that a hug after so long was more important and dropped the blanket onto the ground so he could throw his arms around her tightly. It had been so long since he had last been able to see her in person, partly because of his sleeping habits worsening and partly because he didn't trust himself with her. His trust in himself wavered a little when he took a deep breath in, the familiar smell filling his nose, but it didn't give him a heady rush like it had done before. "I missed you, Tomo-chan."

Tomoka wanted to drop the picnic basket the moment he wrapped his arms around her but as she was slightly stuck in his vice grip of love there wasn't much she could do about it now. Instead she tilted her head enough so she could kiss him warmly on the cheek. "I missed you too, Jirou. Don't go disappearing on me so long again or I might die." she sighed a little dramatically. Of course she was kidding but it had been miserable not seeing her friend so suddenly. Things had gotten so strange and a lot was unanswered and then he just wasn't there one day after Halloween. If only she'd known where his room was she would have attempted to sneak into his room or something. But that was all in the past; for now he was right in front of her and that was enough-- today was going to be perfect, she was positive of it~

"Aah, gomeeen," Jirou said, tightening his hold for a moment before finally letting go. A hand went up to rub the back of his neck as his face flushed just slightly, both in embarrassment at himself and from the kiss to his cheek. "I've never been good with winter. I seem to just sleep more." And it had always been fine to do just that back home, because it wasn't like there was anyone at home that he wanted to be awake for, except for his obaa. With a small laugh, he leaned down to pick up the blanket again. "So, where are we going for this picnic?"

"The park? We haven't gone out since I saw you last so I figured it would be best, hehe~" she giggled, noticing his face flush. Indeed, the boy did sleep a lot in the winter; maybe she was right about that whole hibernation thing after all. She hoped her company would be enough to keep him awake for most of their little date out at least. "Ready to go?" she smiled to him, holding out her arm so they could link them together. Holding hands was a bit out of the question with everything they were holding onto but at the very least they could go arm in arm.

Jirou paused for a moment at the mention of the park, memories of their last trip there flooding back to him, before he gave a nod. He linked their arms. "Sounds good~" He chimed with a grin as they started to walk. It felt good to be hanging out with a friend again after so long. "So how have you been, Tomo-chan?" He had feeling that there had been a lot that he must've missed out on.

"I've been fine, I suppose... Except horribly lonely without a Jirou around to cuddle." she teased him lightly. Of course she didn't need to mention her escapades of sneaking into the dorms or anything like that since. But she was telling the truth about the lonely part, she had really missed him. She moved a bit closer to him as they continued their walk. "I imagine you slept enough for both of us by now." she couldn't help giggling as they continued.

"I'm sorrrryyyy," Jirou apologized again, his head dropping onto her shoulder and face nuzzling against her neck for a moment. "I'll make up for it, I promise!" He was glad that she had missed the cuddles, though. It made him feel better about missing her so much. He hadn't been able to help the fact he pretty much hibernated, but that didn't make him feel any better about it happening. He would've much rather been out there with his friend, enjoying picnics like they were about to.

"I'll hold you to it then, hehe~" Tomoka smiled and pet him on the head for a moment and then returned to handling the basket with care. She completely intended to have him make it up to her, but on the same token for her to make it up to him as well. It wasn't as if the girl couldn't have come up with a way to see how he was that whole time of absence after all but somehow she felt he needed the space. Guys did stuff like that sometimes after all, but she was used to them disappearing for good so she was relieved to have the boy back by her side again. Still as affectionate as ever too; how she loved him so~

Jirou enjoyed the petting while he could and left his head resting on Tomoka's shoulder. He didn't say anything else as they walked, just smiling and enjoying being back in her company. Before he'd started coming here, he'd been so used to just being alone, but now, after just a few months, he found it hard to be alone. He enjoyed his regular naps with Marui and Atobe and the other Night Class students, and enjoyed being able to socialize with humans. Real life humans who liked him for him. Well, the him that he was allowed to show them.

Tomoka didn't mind the silence, it didn't change the fact they were enjoying each other's company. It wasn't too long before they finally arrived in the park again, in front of the same tree they had rested by just a month and a half ago. The spot didn't hold any ill memories for her it was just the last spot they had gone out together and she ended up there almost on accident. Though it was the same spot it seemed a lot different with the change of season and weather. Nature was funny like that, if it had been any longer ago she might not have even remembered where it was.

"Is here okay?" she finally spoke up. She was ready to settle down and put down the basket she had been carrying, no doubt Jirou was feeling the same.

The blond recognized the tree as soon as he spotted it and he pushed the memories of it away. They weren't all bad memories, no, but the memory of the fact that he had almost bitten a good friend was one that he didn't want to keep.

"Here's perfect," he said with a smile, pulling away. He crouched down and carefully set the folded blanket down on the ground. He unfolded it, stopping halfway to lift out a container of cookies before unfolding it completely. He pushed his shoes off and sat on the blanket near the edge and held his arms up to Tomoka. "Come sit, come sit," he insisted.

She walked over and set down the basket in the middle of the blanket before taking off her shoes and joining him. She slid down happily into his arms and slightly pushed him down into a hug since she hadn't hugged him back yet. The food could wait for a little longer, right now she wanted some of her lost cuddles back. Part of it was affection and the other was at the realization that it was quite a bit colder than she had thought. The pigtail haired girl couldn't exactly hide a shiver as she was hugging the boy. She really needed to just walk around in extra layers from now on during this season; then again she had simply rushed out without them on accident. Oh well, at least she hadn't forgotten something more important like the food; she could fight through a cold if it meant seeing her friend.

Hugging her tightly, Jirou buried his face into her shoulder with a smile. "I missed you, Tomo-chan," he said, muffled against her shoulder. He pulled away after a moment and pulled his head down. He began unwrapping his scarf from around his neck then began to wrap it around her neck as well as it was wrapped around both their necks. He giggled. "Nice and warm~!"

It tickled a little when he was against her shoulder and she felt her face flush a little. "I missed you more!" she giggled back, brushing her cheek against his beneath the warmth of the scarf. She could see her breath as she laughed but hardly noticed the cold any longer. "We won't be able to eat like this though." she laughed as they were connected together now thanks to the scarf. Not that she minded too much at the moment; he was doing a good job of making up for lost cuddle time she'd give him that.

"Of course we can," Jirou teased with a grin, reaching to grab the container of cookies and lifted the lid off. He pulled one of the cookies out and snapped it in half then carefully slid his hands up under scarf, tapping one of the cookie halves on Tomoka's lips. "See~? You can still eat~"

Tomoka opened her lips and ate her half of the cookie. It was delicious as always, she could get so fat off of his cookies. Perhaps it was a good thing she hadn't had any for so long; between all of her friends making baked goods this year she'd have a time working it all off. "But I might bite your fingers~" she teased, biting the air for a moment after she had finished her part of the cookie. She couldn't exactly do the same with all the food she had brought for them either; as much as she enjoyed being attached to the Night Class boy.

With a giggle, Jirou wiggled his fingers just out of Tomoka's reach before eating his own half of the cookie. "I doubt they'd taste very nice," he pointed out. "The cookie crumbs might taste nice but I think that's it. I'm a very tasty boy, I don't think." He paused for a moment then leaned forward to kiss the girl's cheek. "Tomo-chan tastes nice, though~ Like cookies and sweets and chocolate." Or maybe that was just the aftertaste of the cookie.

"Jirou tastes nice too though~" she protested, kissing him back on the cheek. "I could just eat you up if it weren't for your amazing cookies." She knew her cheeks were a bit red now thanks to the exchange of little kisses and the cold but she didn't mind. If they continued eating like this for the rest of the time they were out though she might get a bit flustered, or they'd eventually make a mess. "But if we don't unravel soon you won't be able to enjoy my food as much." As much as she didn't want to, they could always bundle back up after at least.

The blonde gave a little pout at that but he did eventually nod and began unraveling the scarf. Once the scarf was off, he wrapped it back around Tomoka's neck and only hers. That done, he pulled up the hoods of each hoodie he was wrapped up in to keep his ears warm. Cold ears were the worst. "Better?" he asked with a grin, putting the lid back on the container of cookies. They were for after. Besides, his cravings weren't exactly showing right now so he didn't have any need for them yet.

"Much~" she smiled back to him. She hadn't expected him to lend her his scarf but it was a comforting gesture, especially since it would keep her from getting too cold. It was always the worst when your face began to freeze, that was for sure. "Now it's my turn." Tomoka pulled the basket closer and slowly removed a large layered bento and two thermoses. "I hope you don't mind sharing the soup and drinks since the thermoses only have the lid cup." She imagined he wouldn't but she knew some people couldn't stand touching their lips to the same cup as other people. Something silly about indirect kisses or whatever; she was never shy about sharing. "One has tea the other has miso soup. The bento has onigiri, nikuman, tsukune, tamago yaki, and a bunch of other things~" she explained, motioning to each as she spoke. She had gone a little overboard with the cooking but she hoped it came out well.

Jirou's eyes widened first at just the sight of the bento and then even more as she began to describe just what she had made. By the end, his mouth was hanging open just a little and he was almost drooling. Almost. "Uwaa~~~h," He couldn't help but wrap his arms tightly around her again, nuzzling his face against his shoulder. "I don't mind sharing at all. And it all sounds so goooood." He finally let go of her again after a moment, bouncing in place excitedly as he invited himself to taking one of the onigiri. He'd had her onigiri before and already knew he loved the taste. "Mmmm, so good~!" Jirou flashed Tomoka a grin, a couple rice grains stuck to his lips. "Thank you so much, Tomo-chan~!"

"I can't let you make the only good food for our picnics, now can I~" she giggled, his face tickling her again. "We'd never have a balanced meal either." she teased. "Don't make too much of a mess, silly." She gently wiped her thumb across his lips to brush off the grains of rice and licked them off her thumb when she was done. Tomoka had actually done it as a habit from when she ate with her brothers, she blushed a little realizing she had done it to him without thinking. That was a little weird for friends even if they were affectionate with each other, huh? She silently took one of the onigiri herself to eat to distract herself from the rather random action.

The blonde just stuck his tongue out at the comment, thinking nothing of the action. "I'm not making that much of a mess," Jirou tried not to whine, but his tone had just a hint of one. "Besides," he grinned. "If Tomo-chan's here, she'll make sure nothing gets wasted." With a happy hum, his hand hovered over the bento before picking up one of the pieces of tamagoyaki, nibbling at it. "I don't see what's so important about a balanced meal, though. I could live on baked goods all my life~~~ Or maybe not. I do love Tomo-chan's cooking~"

"I guess if you got fatter it would make you more huggable." she teased, brushing off the action as he did. She forgot how comfortable the boy seemed to be with almost anything. Except for that one moment last time... but that was then and this was now; at the very least she hadn't done anything too awkward on accident. "But I like Jirou the way he is now, maybe just a little less hibernating would be nice though." She poured herself some of the miso and sipped it happily. It was a good thing she had brought the thermoses with her, it was still nice and hot. She offered him some as she poured a bit more into the cup.

Jirou blinked and looked down at his stomach, poking at it. It didn't do much, though, considering how many layers he was wearing. "I don't wanna get fat," He said with a pout. "Fat people are too squishy and if they get too big you can't hug them nicely and it's no fun at all." It was all said around a mouthful of tamagoyaki which was then swallowed and replaced by a mouthful of the miso from the offered cup after Tomoka had finished pouring. He was careful not to drink it too fast. He didn't want to burn his mouth.

Tomoka couldn't help but laugh, he always seemed to take her teasing a bit to heart and it was just too cute. She highly doubted the boy would ever get fat with the way he always baked and ate sweets anyway but she couldn't help teasing him. It made her happy to know he enjoyed her cooking so much though. "Good, then make sure you eat balanced and you'll stay the cuddly Jirou you are forever. I'll even cook for you so you don't forget to." she smiled, pouring some tea and drinking it to wash the food down. It was quite refreshing and she was a little proud of herself for making such a satisfying meal despite the slightly bone chilling cold they were now facing as the sun was setting.

"But that just means I have to bake more for Tomo-chan otherwise it just wouldn't be fair for you to cook me food if I don't have something to give you in return and then people will frown at me because it's not nice to take advantage of cute girls," Jirou explained with a grin in a matter-of-fact tone before getting to work on another onigiri. "Tomo-chan needs to tell me when her birthday is, as well, so I don't forget to do something for her birthday~ And for Christmas. Oh... Does Tomo-chan celebrate Christmas?"

"I'm told I shouldn't take advantage of cute boys myself." she giggled and pat him on the head. "But I guess that just means we'll both be fine if we make things for each other." She enjoyed watching the boy eat, they had gone through at least half of the large bento by now. He had such a way of eating so animatedly it was amusing to her. "My birthday? It's June 14th. What about yours Jirou? I can't just let you get away with not getting a gift either. The same for Christmas too; of course I celebrate it my brothers would kill me if I didn't get them gifts every year." she smiled. Gift giving was always enjoyable because she loved to shop and she loved seeing how happy her friends and family were when opening them.

"And I'm the cutest, right~?" Jirou said with a wink before licking stray rice grains from his fingers. "Mine's May 5th~ Children's Day~" Not that he ever got to celebrate Children's Day with his family, what with them focusing more on his older brother. "I'll have to bake you something extra special for Christmas, then~!" A thought occurred to him that made him frown slightly. "That is... if you're staying here for Christmas..."

"Hm... I wonder~" she stopped to ponder for a moment but decided it was silly to tease him about that and pet him on the head again. "Of course you are, you had me at your baking. Your sweets stole my heart~" Tomoka winked back to him. "Children's Day, huh?" It was a nice day to have a birthday, she already had plenty of good bento ideas for him. Of course she'd get him something besides food too. "Oh... well I'm not too sure actually, I'll probably be going home but I don't know for how long." she lied slightly; it had been originally planned she would go home for the majority of the break and stay there until school started again. She didn't quite have the heart to tell him just yet though, especially when she saw that little frown. "Aren't you going home for Christmas, Jirou?" He talked so much about his family she figured he'd be going home as soon as he could to be with his grandmother and siblings.

Jirou shook his head slowly. "I... decided to stay at school over break," he said after a moment's hesitation. He couldn't exactly tell her that he couldn't go home. Well, he could, really, if only to see his grandmother. He wasn't sure the rest of his family would exactly welcome him back with open arms, though. None of them but obaa had written to him since he'd started at the school and even obaa had said that it was like the family didn't have a second son.

"Ara... how come?" She knew she probably shouldn't pry but she always thought he was on good terms with his family. And the fact he said he had decided to stay on his own was a bit curious to her. As much as Tomoka loved her friends and cared about them she hadn't seen her family since starting school so she at least wanted to visit them for a week or so during the break, especially Christmas. She was even starting to really miss her brothers despite herself. But that was neither here nor there, she wanted to know about Jirou right now not worry about her situation.

He gave a shrug. "I've never been away from home for Christmas," he explained slowly before giving a smile. "Plus I know some of the others are staying here, so I thought it'd be fun to be able to spend Christmas with them. Besides, I can always spend Christmas next year with them, right? Or go home for my birthday since it's during Golden Week." He didn't want to even start to let on that his decision to stay behind had been influenced by what his family thought of him, or the fact that his family didn't actually really think of him at all. That would only worry his friend and that was the last thing he wanted to do.

"I see..." He gave a good point, it did seem like quite a few people were staying, or had no choice to stay like Liliadent. But it still didn't sound too convincing to her. "I'd think going home for Christmas to see your family would make more sense than doing it for Golden Week." she wondered curiously aloud. "You always mention how much you want to see your obaa-san too, wouldn't it be nice to see her and the rest of your family for the winter holidays?" It wasn't as if she meant it to pry, she just got a bit nosy with her friends because she wanted to know them better. Besides, there always seemed to be some strange weight to the Night Class students that she had a hard time putting her finger on; like there was some weird hierarchy to them all and their families. Maybe it was a rich or elite thing or whatever prerequisites really existed for them. It reminded her again how little she still knew about it all; heck she couldn't even remember what happened the night she and Eiji snuck into the dorms. It was as if it didn't even happen almost...

"Obaa isn't with Kaa-san and Tou-san for winter break," Jirou said, turning an onigiri in his fingers. "She goes down the Kyuushuu to see my aunt but comes back up to Kaa-san and Tou-san's during Golden Week which s why it would be better for me to go home then if I want to see all my family." He managed a small laugh and gave her a smile. "Christmas isn't Christmas if you aren't all there, right? So I figured I could spend Christmas with my friends who weren't going home, and then when I go home for my birthday, it'll be like a late Christmas." He figured he was doing pretty well considering he was making most of this up on the spot.

Nope, no matter how he tried it still just sounded odd to her. "But I hardly see my grandparents on Christmas. We normally get together for Obon instead. I guess in your case I understand wanting to see your obaa-san but what about your parents and siblings?" she was really prying, she knew it. What she didn't know is if she was prying into a touchy subject for the boy or not; she often asked questions first and thought later, which was a bit of a bad habit. "Who likes to go spend their birthday with family and not Christmas, anyway?" It wasn't meant to be mean but she really just didn't understand it that well. Besides; Golden Week was a pretty darn late Christmas celebration.

Jirou thought about it for a moment before he just gave a shrug. He couldn't think of anymore excuses so he eventually just gave a quiet, slightly unsure, "...It made sense at the time..." In all honesty, he just wanted Tomoka to stop asking questions but he couldn't bring himself to ask her to stop. That'd probably just make her worry about why he didn't want to talk about his family and he didn't want her worrying about him. He felt bad lying to her but it felt better than telling the truth.

"Jirou..." she sighed, and moved closer to him. "I don't exactly know what's going on but... you know you don't have to lie or make up things to me. If you don't want to talk about it just say so." She pat him on the head gently and smiled. "I don't like not knowing what's going on with my friends or if something's wrong but... I'll try not to pry too much if you don't want me to." The key word of course was try but for the most part she was good about holding herself back... sometimes.

"I'm not lying," Jirou murmured, leaning against her and closing his eyes. She was warm. He shivered and shifted closer. Even in all his layers, he still felt the cold. He was just susceptible to the cold. It always made napping with Atobe a bit uncomfortable. "Is it wrong that I want to stay here with my friends...?" He didn't know.

"Of course not, I guess I just don't understand." she sighed once more, and slowly wrapped the scarf around the both of them when she noticed him shiver. "Sorry..." she apologized softly, hugging him slightly for a bit of warmth as well. Perhaps she had been analyzing things a bit too much. She had almost completely forgotten the whole reason they were there together right now; because they had simply missed each other so much. And here she was questioning why he didn't want to go home and stay here with friends. It wasn't as if Tomoka didn't consider the same thing a few times, she simply figured she would be seeing them all either back home in Chiba or in Tokyo. But at the same time that meant her friends who were staying at the dorms would be missing that many more friends.

Jirou found himself curling up right into her and even crawling into Tomoka's lap, leaning his head on her shoulder. "It's okay, Tomo-chan," he said quietly, reaching up to kiss her cheek before resting his head against her shoulder again and closing his eyes. He wrapped his arms around her middle as best he could, squeezing a bit, food forgotten. He half-wondered if he really should go home. But to what? He hadn't been lying when he'd said his obaa wouldn't be there for Christmas, and he wasn't exactly jumping around and excited to spend time with his family without her. He was better off here with his friends that decided to stay.

"I'd take you home with me for Christmas if I could." she giggled softly. She'd love to bring him along home with her if he was going to miss out on family for the holidays; but he had decided to stay behind with friends already so that would be silly. For whatever reason he must have wanted to be away from his family, as odd as it was to her. She gently moved his hood and hair so she could kiss him on his forehead sweetly. The food being left out was the least of her worries right now. All that need exist in her world at the moment was the two of them and their warmth hugging each other closely. Funny how much he felt like another little brother to her even though he was older.

Jirou laughed a little at that and then again at the kiss to his forehead. It tickled. He smiled and shifted so he could nuzzle his face against her neck. "You'll have to tell me all about it," he said. "Get photos of your brothers as well." He was curious about what little brothers of someone like Tomoka would look like, and, now that she had mentioned going home for Christmas, he was curious about how similar to their sister they would act.

"Of course~" she chimed happily, and couldn't help giggle a little as he tickled her neck. "Only if you get me pictures of all the fun you have here with everyone too." She wanted to stay behind and spend more time like this with him and her other friends but she did so miss her brothers. Maybe she'd arrange for a shorter trip; it was hard for her to decide either way. Even though she wasn't being tugged all way she felt like she was; even if it was only going to be for a short time it would still be a bit sad whichever way she decided.

"Promise I will~" Jirou grinned. He fell silent for a moment, then, just enjoying being closer to her and sharing her warmth. After a moment, he lifted his head. "You'll have to tell me when you're leaving so I can make you a special cake so you don't miss out~" He was just looking for an excuse to do more baking, really. "And I can make you some sweets to take back for your brothers as well~"

"I'm sure they'd love that. They'd probably want you there more than me, hehe~" she joked lightly. Having someone around who was good at baking would definitely make her little brothers happy. They enjoyed her cooking but were little sugar fiends because of it; baked goods were special treats and not too common in their house. Tomoka had been spoiled by Sakuno and now her friends here and had grown to not have such a bit sweet tooth, but her brothers were different. Her mom wasn't much of a baker either like her which is why she picked up cooking so well.

Tomoka was brought back to reality by a sudden piercing cold breeze. She gently clung to Jirou for warmth, hoping somehow his layers of warmth would transfer to her. It was oddly comfortable being bundled and huddled up like they were hugging; but that breeze had done a good job of chilling her.

Jirou felt the breeze as well and he frowned a little at it. Reluctantly, he let go of her and crawled off her lap. He made short work of cleaning up the bento and thermoses and shifted them and the picnic basket off the blanket. He then gathered the edges of the blanket up, curled back up in Tomoka's lap and pulled the blanket up around them. "There we go~"

She would have protested to him cleaning up on his own but there wasn't that much to move around. Before she had even realized it he was back with the blanket wrapped around them and everything put away. "Cuddle time~" she giggled and pulled him into a big hug with the blanket wrapped around them. It was like no cold could penetrate them now; for the most part anyway. Between the warmth of their clothes and the blanket along with their joined body heat they probably wouldn't have to worry about another breeze breaking through. The problem now would be getting back home; as it normally always was. But for now Tomoka wanted her long awaited Jirou cuddles and she wasn't about to let the cold or curfew or anything else get in the way of that.

"My favourite part~" Jirou grinned and tightened his arms around her, leaning into her as much as he could. "Warm, warm, warm." He felt so much better, now. He had food in his stomach and he was nice and warm and wrapped up tight with a friend who gave some of the best cuddles - tied for first with Marui and Atobe, cause they were pretty damn fun to cuddle. "You warm?"

"Mmm... yes~" she chimed happily, resting her head on his shoulder instead and kissing his neck softly as she couldn't quite find the strength to lift her head higher to kiss him on the cheek. It was nice and warm snuggled next to him she was finding it a bit hard to keep her eyes open suddenly. Maybe she'd rest for a little while; hopefully not long enough to get caught or sick. As warm as they were snuggled together it still probably wasn't too safe for them both to fall asleep outside in the cold and dark. "Don't... fall asleep..." she murmured, closing her eyes and resting for a moment. Or at least she planned for it only to be a short moment.

Jirou giggled at the warning. He was actually feeling more awake than last time they were like this. He glanced at her face and smiled when he saw she'd closed her eyes. "I'm not the one we should worry about," he murmured, kissing her cheek before settling down again. "Sleep well, Tomo-chan." He shifted, with some difficulty, to pull his phone out of his pocket. He set an alarm for a half hour, so they wouldn't get caught out there past midnight again.
