Characters: Jirou and Tomoka
Rating/Warnings: G
When: October 13th
Where: Dawn dorm and then the park
What: Tomoka sneaks out to go to the park with Jirou, another extremely close call, and the two get caught by another Night class student when they fall asleep.
Comments: Aaaaaand that's the end of Jirou's restraint, I think. >>; I doubt there'll be anymore close calls. It'll all be consequences. And there'll be a rumour going around now along the lines of "Akutagawa was caught sleeping with a Day class girl."
Tomoka slipped out past the back door of the dorms and out toward the gate. She had almost slipped up when Sakuno spotted her leaving the room but she just told her she was going to visit Eiji and Sengoku. It was always a good cover as most of the time it was the truth. The girl wasn't happy with herself about lying to her best friend but if she didn't she would worry her and that was a million times worse.
Adjusting her pigtails a bit, not that it mattered as it was relatively dark out now, Tomoka waited patiently hidden behind the trees.
With night having fallen, Jirou had no trouble at all leaving his dorm. He was wrapped up fairly warm, with warmup pants and a baggy, zipup hoodie, feeling the gradual temperature drop more than most. Hands in his pockets and the hood up over his head, he made his way across the school towards the Dawn dorm. True to Tomoka's word, there was no around, and he smile as he headed towards the trees.
"Tomo-chan?" He called quietly, not wanting to alert anyone else except his friend.
"Jirou~" she cheered as she barely spotted the blond boy. She had only really known the general direction he was by his voice but her eyes had adjusted a bit to the dark. He seemed to be bundled up well, the same couldn't be said too much for herself. Tomoka was dressed in a jacket and knee length skirt with some leggings covering up her ankles, otherwise there wasn't much keeping her terribly warm. But she wasn't exactly prone to the cold anyway so she thought nothing of it.
"I see you~" Jirou smiled, stepping towards her. He felt more comfortable in the night than he did in the day, and it was odd feeling coming to meet her in his element rather than hers. He stopped in front of her, giving her a grin and then hugging her tightly. He was careful not to breathe in too deeply, knowing exactly what that would do to his senses and held his breath for the duration of the hug. He stepped back after a moment, his hands staying on Tomoka's shoulder. "To the park~?"
"Of course~" she smiled back to him. The momentary warmth of his hug was enough to rejuvinate her again from the small time she had been standing there waiting in the cool air. She grabbed his hands on her shoulders and began to led him along toward the park. "If we take this path we'll be okay~" she explained as she led him through another shortcut she had become familiar with.
The blond blinked as he glanced ahead in the direction he was being lead them smiled. "Tomo-chan's such a sneaky girl, isn't she?" he laughed and took a few quick steps to walk beside her, hand holding her's and lacing their fingers. "Ah! I'm sorry," He said suddenly, sounding slightly remorseful. "I didn't bring any cookies. I haven't had a chance to make anymore."
"I consider that a compliment~" she giggled as she continued to lead him along, though soon he fell in step beside her. She couldn't help but smile when she felt his fingers wrap around hers, it was comforting and kinda cute. "It's okay, I didn't make anything either and besides I'm not too hungry this time of day anyway." she assured him.
Jirou swung their hands between them slightly in time with their steps. "So long as Tomo-chan's sure~" He chimed before settling on just humming to himself - the song from his new favourite game, in fact. He'd spent a good three hours straight playing it earlier that day when he had been unable to sleep.
"Mou, that game again? I feel so unloved~" she pouted lightly just to tease him a bit.
The blond laughed. "Gome~~n," he chimed again. His head dropped onto her shoulder and he nuzzled his face against her neck with a grin. "Tomo-chan's knows I couldn't love a game more than her~ She's just too awesome."
"Good to know, hehe~" she giggled as she felt his face brush against her neck, it tickled a little. He was such an affectionate boy, almost like a puppy. She couldn't help but pat him on the head a little.
Jirou didn't lift his head from his shoulder, deciding it was too comfortable to bother. "Not that you need me to tell you that~" He said, stifling a yawn and finally lifting his head. He didn't want to fall asleep while they were walking.
"Ara, you're not tired already are you?" She moved their hands to playfully knock up against his side. "I'm not going to carry you the rest of the way if you fall asleep." she teased lightly, though it was true; she lacked in strength anyway. "We're almost there~"
"I'm always tired," He gave a playful whine before he grinned again, seeming a little more awake. "But I'm not gonna fall asleep. It's not fair on you."
"Good." she smiled, patting him on the head again. "You can rest when we get there if you really want to though." She had called him out after all so if he was really tired she didn't want to keep him from resting any more. They were just about there anyway, just around another corner and they'd be there.
"I'll stay awake," Jirou swung their hands again. "So long as I get snuggles." In saying that, though, having snuggles was probably more likely to make him sleep.
"Well that's counter productive, but sure." she laughed, knowing fully well that would only make the boy more sleepy. "Ah, and here we are!" After they turned the corner they now stood at the back of the park. It was pretty empty for the most part but still lit up from the small sidewalk lanterns. It was actually really pretty at night, it was the first time she really came there just to enjoy it so late.
Jirou looked around the park and smiled. "It's so nice..." he murmured before he squeezed Tomoka's hair and began dragging her over the grass towards a large tree.
"And now we can rest." she smiled as they arrived at the tree. It was a really nice tree actually, she didn't remember ever seeing it during the day. Or perhaps it just looked different at night. Either way, it was a good spot and she happily sat down. She was still weak to walking around too much after all.
He didn't sit down straight away, instead taking off his hoodie and lying it out on the ground. Then he sat down and lay back down on it. A hand reached up to Tomoka's arm and tugged her towards him. "Lie down," he said, shifting over so there was room for her to lie on the hoodie as well.
She did so and smiled over to him when they laid beside each other. Any other girl would be going crazy over being so close to a Night class guy or horribly awkward and embarrassed laying down beside him like she was. But it didn't phase Tomoka at all, it was just like whenever she slept with her younger brothers. Sure he wasn't related to her and older than her but to her it was the same comfort level. "Thanks, Jirou."
Jirou smiled. "Anytime, Tomo-chan," he chimed, rolling onto his side and shifting closer to her. He put an arm over her stomach and rested his head onto her shoulder. "You're so comfy."
"Hehe, you are too." she sighed lightly, feeling a bit sleepy herself. It wasn't enough to fall asleep sing the small nippy breeze kept bringing her back to reality but she was relaxed. Her body jerked ever so slightly when she felt his arm move over her stomach but she relaxed and placed her hand over his arm. She wrapped her other arm gently around his headed and stroked his hair. No doubt she was only encouraging him to fall asleep by doing so but she couldn't help it, he was just too cute not to.
The hand on his hair made him smile even more and he closed his eyes, pulling himself just a touch closer by tightening his hold around her. "Smells good," he murmured, taking a deep breath in.
That was a funny thing to say, though she assumed he meant her shampoo or perfume. Guys tended to like that kind of thing, right? She wasn't too surprised when she felt his grip tighten ever so slightly. He was really gentle with her, just like a little kid; her brothers had been the same though a bit more greedy since they fought with each other for her attention sometimes. It was nice to be held so carefully, she continued to stroke his hair gently. It was a bit of a strange way to get together with a friend but she didn't mind.
Jirou ran his tongue over his teeth, trying to keep himself in check. He knew it had been a risk coming out her with Tomoka, especially at night in the dark, so far from the school grounds, but he trusted himself not to do anything. At least... he thought he did.
Tomoka noticed he went a bit quiet, she wondered if he was falling asleep already. She wanted to turn her head and see if he had fallen asleep already but couldn't quite find the strength to; she was getting pretty tired herself. Instead she squeezed his arm around her stomach gently to see if she got a response.
The blond tightened his arm slightly and gave her a smile before settling down again. "... Hey, Tomo-chan?" he asked quietly. "Do you believe in vampires?"
"Vampires..?" she asked curiously. That was a strange question to ask out of the blue. "How come?" She figured asking if he was referring to Twilight would be silly since he didn't seem like the type who was into that stuff.
"No reason," Jirou said without missing a beat, nuzzling her shoulder. "I was just playing a game earlier when I couldn't sleep. Vampires versus werewolves."
She didn't quite believe that somehow. He had never brought anything up randomly like that unless it concerned food or baking. "Then why didn't you ask about werewolves too?" she remarked slyly. "You don't have to lie like that, if you want to ask me something I'll answer." she turned her head and smiled back at him.
Jirou laughed. "I didn't ask about werewolves because I already know they exist~" He lifted his head and looked down at her with a grin. "Didn't you know that? Tomo-chan, you're so silly~"
Tomoka frowned slightly. "No, you're being silly... but I forgive you~" she said as she moved her hand to poke his cheek. "And if werewolves exist then of course vampires do too, right?" she smiled again.
The blond lay back down again, half-heartedly swatting at her hand. "I don't know," he said. "I mean... there's vampire bats, but they only feed on cows."
Tomoka just poked him again. "I don't know about that~ I mean why would there be so many stories and media if they weren't." she teased. "I like them more than werewolves anyway." Tomoka couldn't help but grin.
Jirou was glad it was dark. It made the light blush on his cheeks easier to hide. He did turn his head to bite playfully at her finger though. "Because mothers like to scare their children?" He offered. "But I think werewolves are better. They'd be nicer to cuddle, I think. Aren't vampires meant to be cold and dead?"
"Well... if vampire bats exist and are living breathing creatures, I don't see why actual vampires can't be the same." she smiled again and playfully hit him on the head in retaliation. "And I think werewolves nip more than vampires." she laughed, referring to how the boy had been attacking her finger. He really was like a puppy.
"So you think I'm werewolf?" He nipped at her finger again, holding it lightly with his front teeth for a moment before letting go again. "That would be so cool! I'd be, like, covered in fur like my hair, right? All blond and soft and curly!"
"I'd have to discipline you if you were, going around nipping fingers like that. Bad boy~" she playfully scolded him. "But you know... if you were a vampire and asked nicely I'd let you bite me." Tomoka joked lightly, pretending to bare her non existent fangs at him.
Jirou couldn't help his falter, falling silent for a moment. That was something he had always wondered; if humans would be so frightened by the idea if vampires just asked. "You'd believe me if I said I was?"
Tomoka was surprised when he momentarily fell silent, and was even more taken aback by his question. She just smiled, "Well I would but... I guess I'm more of the seeing is believing type. So you'd have to prove it." The pigtail haired girl laughed a bit lightly at the end, she still thought he was just joking of course. Though now that she stopped to consider it it made a bit of sense with the whole Night Class thing and all...
"Guess I won't try that then," Jirou laughed, nuzzling his face into her neck again. "But I'll try make it believable for Halloween."
"Try what?" she was a bit curious now. The thought of the boy being a vampire was still odd to her and she wasn't sure how she'd believe it but she wanted to know what he wanted to try. "Halloween's so far away." she whined softly, leaning her head against his while he nuzzled her neck. His face against her neck tickled her a bit and she couldn't help giggling a little. She could feel the small bit of heat rising to her cheeks because of it, no doubt she was blushing; good thing it was dark.
"I'm gonna be Edward Cullen for Halloween," Jirou sounded almost excited about it, and he kinda was. It'd be.. interesting. To say the least. He didn't move away from her neck, breathing deeply through his nose and then out through his mouth again, slightly shakily, and flicked his tongue over his teeth. He needed to move. He had to. But... he couldn't bring himself to.
"Then I can't really believe you're a vampire... because he's definitely the fakest one I've ever heard of." she laughed, half from the feeling of his nose and breath against her neck and the other because of what he said. She didn't even want to imaging Jirou dressed up like that for Halloween, unless he was going for comedy.
"Then it shouldn't be too hard for me to pull it off," He laughed and closed his eyes and, out of an urge he couldn't bring himself to stop, he kissed her neck. A split second later, he sat bolt upright and turned his back to her. He hugged his knees tightly and hid his face into the top of them, hiding his face. He wasn't embarrassed because he had kissed her neck, but it was what he hoped she thought. It was a habit he had developed to kiss the skin before he bit to feed. He didn't know what it was that let him catch himself and stop, but he was thankful for it.
Tomoka was shocked when the breath against her neck stopped and she felt the boy's lips pressed against her neck instead. It sent a strange sensation through her and she froze; it wasn't as if it was unpleasant just not what the girl expected. She was equally surprised when he suddenly disappeared from her side and sat upright with his back to her huddled up. "Jirou..?" she questioned and then slowly sat up herself. He was probably embarrassed or something, but his sudden actions and hunched position had her a bit concerned. She placed her hand on his shoulder to try and get his attention.
Jirou didn't lift his head but didn't move away from the touch. "Sorry," he mumbled against the top of his knees, breathing out slowly. He was careful to not bite his lip, knowing that if he bit it and bleed, the taste of blood in his mouth - even his own - would make him lose control of himself. "I shouldn't have..." He was more than happy to go with the embarrassed part of him. He'd never interacted with someone outside of his direct family and obaa and he really wasn't sure what was acceptable and what wasn't sometimes. Especially when stuff his brother hand always told him wasn't okay had ended up being okay here.
"It's okay..." She moved a bit closer when he didn't move away from her touch. But she was a great deal more concerned when she could feel his slightly labored breathing just by having her hand on his shoulder. "I don't mind, really..." For now she'd just reassure him and hoped he wasn't about to have some sort of anxiety attack or something.
"....Y-You sure?" He lifted his head just a little off his knees; enough that he could look back over his shoulder at her. His face was a little pink - he really was feeling a little embarrassed with what he had done - and he was breathing through his slightly open mouth, but he did try to even his breathing out. "C-Cause Aniki and Imouto use to always tell me it wasn't right to kiss someone who wasn't Obaa or mother... No matter what..."
"Of course." she smiled, happy he was looking up at her now at least. Though it was clear to see the boy was still uneasy. "Kisses mean different things to different people but I know you didn't do it for a bad reason, Jirou." She pet him on the head gently. "In fact it's a greeting to some people." Tomoka then leaned forward to kiss him softly on the neck back. "See..?"
Yes, I did... He didn't voice his thoughts and indeed smiled a little, slowly letting go of his knees. He laughed softly, reaching up to place his hand over where her lips had touched skin. "Tickles." He turned around slowly, folding his legs in front of him. He stared at his lap for a moment before looking up at her again and holding his arms out towards her.
Tomoka took the hands outstretched to her first and squeezed them reassuringly and then shifted over into his lap and wrapped her arms around his. "I told you it's okay." She didn't quite know why he had been so panicked but perhaps it had been that awkward or embarrassing for him. After all he said he had been worried if it was okay for him too. "Even if you were a vampire or something and wanted to bite me... I'd be okay so long as it was you, Jirou." she couldn't help saying, hoping to lighten the mood a bit. After all she thought the whole joke was what brought it on. But she didn't exactly say the words lightly either; Jirou was too nice to do anything bad to her, she was positive of that.
Jirou smiled a little more confidently and hugged her tightly, resting his head on her shoulder and looking away from her neck. "I know, Tomo-chan," he murmured softly, lifting his head to look at her. "Same to you~ So if you're a vampire, you should tell me." He managed a small laugh before resting his head back down on her shoulder. His breathing had evened out and he felt a little more relaxed, even if he was still cautious about just where he put his face.
"Maybe I am~" she teased lightly and turned slightly so she could kiss him softly on his neck again. She was happy he seemed to have calmed down now, though she still didn't quite know what had caused it. Kissing just didn't feel like a good enough explanation. But that was alright, she would believe whatever he wanted her to for now she was just happy to be with him. Though she was aware that this was a bit more intimate than even she was used to, it didn't feel strange with him.
"If I fall asleep, promise you won't bite me without waking me up first?" Jirou teased before yawning widely. "Because I'm really gonna fall asleep like this soon." He was tired. Definitely tired. But he was always pretty tired. His only worry was getting caught and getting Tomoka in trouble, but he figured that they would be pretty safe from being caught.
"Same to you, hehe." She too couldn't help but let a small yawn escape her. Unlike him she had been up all day already and she was pretty tired herself. Tomoka had been so concerned about him a moment ago that it sort of zapped what little energy she had left. "I hope you don't mind if I fall asleep first..." she sighed as she felt her eyes get a bit heavy.
Jirou shook his head slowly and shifted a little bit at a time so he could lie back down, pulling her down with him. He curled into her side and rested his head on her shoulder, as far from her neck as he could without causing her panic. He closed his eyes with a hum, nuzzling. "You won't...."
Tomoka wrapped her hands around his but didn't say anything more. It didn't take her too long to slowly fade out, the warmth of the boy curled into her side was the best blanket she could ask for. She had completely forgotten about the worries of being caught or what kind of image the two would have if found in the park like that. For now she just wanted to rest and hoped that Jirou could as well, she was sure she'd wake up in time to get back to school... probably, maybe...
The blond had passed off either before or at the same time as she had, before he had actually managed to finish speaking. He tightened his arm where he held her and subconsciously chewed on his bottom lip, drawing a little blood. It wasn't enough to rouse him from sleep, though, and probably wouldn't be woken up until his body was ready to wake up.
A few hours had passed in the dark park, it was around midnight or so now. A Night Class student was out for a stroll in the park when he came across as strange sight of a couple wrapped up together sleeping in the park. At first he was about to pass them over when he noticed who the boy was; he recognized him from class. "Hey, what're you doing out here with her?" he questioned, nudging the other vampire awake with his foot. The girl in his arms was definitely human; the smell was distinct despite her being wrapped in the other vampire's arms.
Groaning, Jirou mumbled incoherently for a moment - obviously in protest at being woken up - but eventually accepted that he was awake and someone wanted his attention. He rolled onto his back, rubbing his eyes with his fists before looking up to actually register who it was. "... What...?" He mumbled before yawning and glancing at Tomoka. "Napping...?"
"With a Day Class girl..?" he sighed and rubbed the back of his head. It wasn't like he wanted to be bothered with enforcing the rules or anything but he couldn't ignore it. "Look... you better get back to campus before you get into real trouble, the nobles will start doing rounds around here in a bit." It was far more trouble for him to bring them in and tattle on them in the meantime anyway. And it didn't look like the other vampire was having a midnight snack or anything so it wasn't his problem as far as he was concerned.
Jirou yawned again. "What time is it?" He scratched the side of his head before running his eyes again. He looked up at the sky as if it would tell him, before reaching a hand out to shake Tomoka's shoulder. "Tomo-chan. Wake up."
"Nnngh..." the girl moaned softly, turning ever so slightly but not exactly waking up. The Night Class boy sighed and glanced at his watch, "It's 1am now." And it didn't look like Tomoka wanted to budge.
"Tomo-chaaaaaan," Jirou used both his hands to shake her shoulders. When that didn't work, he took a deep breath, held it and leaned in to nuzzle her neck, no breathing again until he had pulled well away. "Wake uuuup."
That was definitely more than enough to shock and tickle the girl awake. She jerked away from him slightly and covered her ears, opening her eyes begrudgingly. "What is it... Jirou..?" she groaned, looking over to him blurrily.
Jirou smiled now that she was awake before it fell and he pointed up at his classmate. "Busted."
Crap... She scurried to her feet in a panic, but quickly fell back down to the ground when she had moved too fast for her body to really wake up. She felt quite stupid letting the time pass her by like that, she was going to get into so much trouble. And she had always been so careful any other night...
"Tomo-chan, are you okay?" He asked in a worry from where he had leaned forward to try and catch her, but been too slow. "It'll be okay. He won't turn us in... right...?" He glanced up at the other boy, the puppy dog eyes turning on as an automatic gut reaction.
"Yeah, yeah... just get back to campus already." he sighed again, he just wanted to continue his walk anyway. Tomoka just nodded to Jirou, "Yeah... I'm okay just... not awake..." Which was the truth, she was just concentrating on getting her legs working again. She nodded a small thank you to the Night Class boy who shooed them off as if to get out of his way.
Jirou grinned a thanks before pulling himself to his feet and offering his hand to Tomoka to help her up. "I'll take you back to your dorm," he said with a smile. Then he would sneak away from the Dawn dorm and back into his own and straight to his room to think.
Tomoka took his hand sleepily and walked as close to him as she could. Her steps weren't very steady so she tried to compensate by balancing with Jirou's help. It was going to be a long walk back, maybe... if she could even remember she was walking back. She was so out of it, but they had to make it back before they were caught again.
As they walked, Jirou kept glancing at her worriedly before eventually hooking an arm around her waist to get her to lean into him. "You gonna be okay...?"
She nodded, though it felt more like she was going to nod off instead, so she glanced over to him with a tired smile. "Yeah... I'm just really sleepy is all. I was up all day already so I was... really tired I guess." she tried to laugh lightly but it didn't really come out. Tomoka happily lean into him but tried to keep pulling her own weight as well. She didn't expect the boy to carry her back as much as she expected the reverse when they first came to the park; whenever that was. It felt like it was another day or something weird like that.
He just gave a small frown and tightened his arm. "Are you far from the front door?" He asked quietly. He was worried she'd collapse before she reached her room if she had too far to go.
"Nope... I'm on the first floor." She would be fine so long as he could lead her to the door, or even just the gate. It was so late no doubt everyone was asleep on her floor at least by now. Parties normally went on upstairs if anything and otherwise no one kept a watch on the Dawn Dorm so much as the Dusk Dorm.
"I can... take you to your room, if you want," Jirou offered with a small smile. "You have a window, right? I can just climb out that." She had taken a risk for him, he could take a risk for her.
"A-... Are you sure..?" She knew that Sakuno probably wouldn't wake up; despite the girl's looks she slept like a rock. That was probably why she was always so cheerful during the day since she slept so deeply. But she was a bit concerned about Jirou; though logically they wouldn't really have to worry about getting caught.
"Everyone's asleep, right?" He smiled and nodded. "It'll be okay. Promise."
"O-Okay... if you're sure." She couldn't really say no to him because 1. she was too tired to care and 2. she was falling for his kindness quite a bit, maybe even his puppy eyes if she was feeling weak enough.
Satisfied that he had won, Jirou leaned over and kissed her cheek with a grin. His cheeks went red a moment later when he realized what he had done and he looked down at his feet.
Tomoka kissed him back, though on the nose instead. Even when half awake she had to still be at least a better flirt than the other boy. Though that was about her limit as even she blushed because of it. "My hero~" she whispered as they arrived at the dorm door.
The return kiss just made him blush deeper but he smiled all the same when they reached the door. He slowly reached a hand out and pulled the door open. Discreetly he sniffed at the air and when he determined all scent that was present in the room to be stale, he lead her inside and closed the door behind him. It was... a little overwhelming. The strong smell of human, despite being stale, attacked his senses more than being in town did. "Where's you're room?" He asked slowly, looking around.
"The first to the right... over there, 102." she motioned to the door. It really wasn't too far off, she would have been fine with him dropping her off then and there really. But she didn't quite find the will to speak up about it; he had brought her this far after all; she'd probably kick herself about it later and try to make it up to him more, she was being selfish.
Jirou nodded in understanding and took a few steps before he stopped, looking around. "...Sorry, thought I heard something," he murmured before helping her to her room and carefully opening the door. There was someone else in there, he could smell them. "...Roommate?" He asked quietly, voice barely above a whisper.
"Yeah, that's Sakuno. My best friend... I was telling you about before." she whispered to him with a small smile. She and Jirou would probably get along just great in a kitchen together. But Tomoka didn't have enough energy to say as much, and when she spotted her bed she wanted to jump into it.
He nodded again and eventually just gave up worrying about whether Sakuno would wake up or not and helped Tomoka to her bed. Once he had helped her at least sit down, he moved back to the door to close it.
She stayed sitting up on the bed until he was done shutting the door. Everything had been surprisingly fast and quiet. Or maybe she was just too dazed to noticed; but if she was then that meant everyone else on the floor was the same. "Don't worry... Sakuno's a deep sleeper." she called out softly to him, figuring that may have been why he was a bit skiddish when getting to the room.
"That's good," Jirou smiled, sitting down beside her. "I should get going," he added, thinking out loud. "You'll be okay now, right?"
"Yeah..." she smiled back. "Thanks for everything, Jirou... sorry about almost getting you in trouble..." She leaned against him slightly, still fighting the urge to just lay down and pass out in her bed until she saw him off.
"It's okay," He said quietly, giving her a tight hug before he stood up and moved to open the window. "You sleep well, okay?" He glanced back over his shoulder at her and hesitated a moment before pulling himself up onto the windowsill with unexpected grace. "I'll see you later." With that he dropped out of the window and turned around the close it as best he could, giving a small wave before leaving.
"Good night, Jirou..." she mumbled back softly and waved back to him as she laid down in bed and fell asleep. It all felt like a dream really, but she hoped it wouldn't fade away when she woke up the next morning...
