The fourth of October.

Nature certainly wasn't providing them with the ample weather for such an auspicious evening, Yuushi mused to himself as he looked out the window of his room at the clouds gathering in the sky.

No one appreciated Atobe-sama's birthday, apparently, and he chuckled to himself as he gathered his violin and left. Kenya would probably be astonished later that he was willingly leaving his bed so early in the evening, but he did want to catch their illustrious leader before he left his own room. Soon enough he was knocking on the pureblood's door.

Atobe was reading a book when he heard a knock. He wasn’t really expecting any visitors before classes, but seeing it was his birthday, it wasn’t a great surprise that he might have some. Quietly he read the rest of the page he had been reading and placed the book on his table before walking to the door. After opening it he noticed a rather familiar person outside of it.

“Good evening, Yuushi”, he said and stepped aside. “Please, do come in.”

"Keigo," Yuushi drawled, not concerned with being formal around the pureblood in private. "Did I interrupt anything?"

“I was reading something, but I can continue it later. It was rather boring”, Atobe nodded at the book on his table. “But since I’ve started with it, might as well finish it.” It was the last time he’d take book recommendations from anyone two years younger than him. And the young vampire had been so keen on the series, that Harry Potter one.

The telepath glanced at the book in question, one eyebrow quirking up briefly. "So I see," he commented, vastly amused at the selection. "I'd advise you not to take any reccommendations from anyone on books about vampires that sparkle in the sunlight," he chuckled.

“Twilight, I assume? That was a second option. A wonderfully humorous spoof about vampires, the young vampire had said.” Atobe wasn’t sure why anyone would find vampire stories interesting… they only made him feel like humans were total idiots in trying to guess what they were. “Anyway… what brings you here, Yuushi?”

"Why, Keigo. You don't know? I've come to give myself to you," the blue haired aristocrat smirked, teasingly unbuttoning the top buttons of his shirt. It left his neck exposed...which helped when he lifted his violin after taking it out of its case.

"With music, of course," he added.

Atobe grinned slightly. Oshitari Yuushi was an interesting guy. He had a sense of humor which wasn’t the most common one, but not too odd to be amusing. “I see. Well, the stage is yours.”

"Why, thank you." Flashing Atobe a smile, Yuushi placed the violin under his chin, relaxing his arm a moment before raising it to draw the bow across the intrument. His composition for Atobe wasn't as long as some pieces he could do. But he thought it was an apt one, displaying an imperial sort of strength and pride mixed with idealness and a touch of isolation.

Truthfully, it didn't even begin to touch what he suspected was beneath the pureblood's depths. But he'd only had so long to work on it. Once he began to play, his eyes drifted closed, and he let himself be carried away with the melody.

Atobe closed his eyes once the song started. The melody was something Atobe hadn’t heard before, which made it interesting and something he wanted to hear to learn it. Yuushi had really produced a nice song… he was lucky to have that kind of a talent. Music was a gift that needed to be cherished. It was something that the world really needed…

Yuushi wasn't thinking anything at all. When he was playing, he often got carried away into a trance from the music, feeling it in his body even. It was often a relief from hearing the thoughts of others, when his ability to control his powers weren't as sharp. The music was sweet white noise that didn't allow for thoughts to come through, his body an extension of his instrument. He'd only meant to play Atobe's piece, but the end of it segued perfectly into another, one he'd written for Dan that was sweet and light and a bit lonely. That moved into one he was working on for Munehiro-kun, and looped back around to Atobe's, finishing it with a flourish of his bow. A little disjointed, he thought when he cracked his eyes open slowly. He was going to have to work on that another time.

As the song finished Atobe opened his eyes, smiled and clapped a little. “Truly wonderful, Yuushi. You are truly talented at this. Thank you.” They were Atobe’s true feelings and opinions. He really did enjoy it. “And the other songs in the mix were beautiful as well…”

"I assumed it was more appropriate for your birthday than someone naked popping up out of an oversized cake," Yuushi chuckled, taking a dramatic bow for the pureblood. "You recognized that they were seperate pieces," he also commented. "Those were written for others, but they meld in nicely, don't you think?"

Atobe nodded. “Yes, it was a rather nice mix. They didn’t break the harmony of the first song at all.” Usually randomly mixing songs was a bad idea, but this had been a very nice experience. “And I truly appreciate this idea. I do hope you’ll play for me again one day.”

"Thats a fair trade for your company," the telepath smirked slightly. Putting away his violin, he snapped the case shut and sat himself down next to Atobe. "I'd be surprised if you're planning on leaving your room today. You're likely to be mobbed by everyone wanting to wish you a happy birthday."

“I had plans to go for a walk, but you have a point. I can go on any other night and today I have no reason to leave… seeing as this is a vacation week.” Atobe didn’t really mind attention, but peace was far more appreciated. “And if someone really wants my attention, they can visit me here.”

"I'm expecting a line to form, then," Yuushi chuckled, patting his shoulder lightly. "You are the most popular one of all~"

Atobe laughed slightly. “I guess I should provide waiting numbers.” At least he didn’t have his family and relatives and all important guests congratulating him. That would have made him fall asleep… well, at least almost. “But you were the first one. Congratulations.”

"I think a double congratulations should be in order," Yuushi stretched his arms over his head and leaned his head down on Atobe's shoulder with a yawn. "I got out of bed before midnight. Kenya would throw me a party just for that," he chuckled.

Atobe glanced at Yuushi, who seemed relaxed around him. Which was a good thing; Atobe was tired of people being all formal and fidgety when they talked and hanged around him. “You enjoy a long sleep… and let me guess, Kenya’s an early riser?”

The telepath shuddered at the question. "Disgustingly early. He might as well be in the day class. And he jogs...jogs! What self respecting aristocrat does such pointless exercise?"

Atobe chuckled slightly. “I see. Well, some of us like to do sports even if there’s no need to… even I go horseback riding every once in a while… even if that’s not the same thing.” And he did it mostly to relax.

"You do that too, hm?" That answered the question of why his father had wanted Yuushi to learn horseback riding. The telepath barely supressed the urge to roll his eyes. "I wonder how many things we have in common...that might be the only thing," he grinned.

“Well, we both enjoy music, don’t we? That’s two…” Atobe really didn’t have much common with anyone. Others had gotten knowledge on human things while he was living under a rock. And some things he liked were really old-fashioned.

"If you're tired of the pompous goings on of the aristocracy too, we might as well make it three," Yuushi chuckled. "At least here I'm not required to be at beck and call..." Primarily to be shown off and used to promote his parents social standings. If he didn't get something out of his telepathy, he could quickly learn to hate it.

“Well, I don’t know about that”, Atobe said and yawned. “But I’m quite tired right now… woke up three hours ago which is too early for me. “ He had wondered what had hit him when he had woken up so early… and risen. He hadn’t felt sleepy for a while, but that was because he had read something to keep himself awake and the listening to music… now the sleepiness returned. “If you’d like, you can join me for an evening nap. Jirou usually stays over for one, so I see no reason why you couldn’t.”

"How awful, waking up early. I try to avoid that at all costs." Atobe did look weary though. He brushed an errant strand of the pureblood's hair away from his face absently. "As if I could ever turn down a nap, however," he smiled.

Atobe smiled back at the aristocrat. “I thought so”, he said and then got a better position on the bed. After he got to the center of it, he slowly descended to lie down, leaving room for Yuushi to join him. “It was a good idea to deliver my own bed to school… “

"Mother said if I brought mine there would be no getting me out of it," the blue haired vampire smirked, stretching and simply letting his body lay where it fell. Half sprawled on Atobe, his head cushioned on his stomach. He much preferred body pillows. Real ones.

Atobe laughed quietly and gently while brushing Yuushi’s hair a little. “Well, let’s see if we can get you out of my bed when we wake up…” Slowly he let himself get more relaxed and he drifted to sleep, hand still on the aristocrat’s hair.

Yuushi lay there awake awhile longer. He was a touch surprised he was being allowed to do this. Atobe was certainly easy with others, moreso than most aristocrats tended to think.

He'd even been petted. How kind.

Gently nuzzling, he let his own eyes slip closed, listening to the stillness of Atobe's body and the white noise of his sleeping mind. "I wish you luck, Keigo," he murmured, lips curving up with amusement as he was lulled into his own nap, comfortable and more loyal now to Atobe than he'd ever been before.
