I also agree that once humans have a label that we tend to use it as a weapon somehow. I'm-better-than-you sort of deal. It's so dumb. Labels are so useful to help organize things and it bugs me that people have to be dumb and use it against other people.
Yeah for a Christian who is actually reasonable!!! I find that many Christians use that name as a label (and hence use it to claim superiority somehow). It always bugs me to hear Christians that are just belligerent in their faith and make you feel like scum. That is completely not the point. What about loving everyone and appreciating people as individuals? I am glad that he was passionate about his faith and could convey that passion in a way other than beating it into you. Haha. I admire people of all faiths who are passionate about it in a nice way.
Ack, i have more to say, but I must go to a music major departmental recital. Gah. Back later, perhaps?
