Baseball is back....

Mar 30, 2008 08:17

The 2008 MLB season has already begun. I managed to catch a bit of both Oakland vs. Boston games from Japan this week in the wee hours of the morning. I woke up and remembered that they were on. The first game was a good one, except Boston won. The second one on Thursday morning was much more satisfying as Oakland won 5-1. I dvr'd that one.
I didn't want to point this out, but I can no longer remain quiet. The SF Giants suck ass! I know this going into the season. They had an atrocious spring training, and they will have an even worse regular season. They have some pitching talent (Barry Zito is massively overrated - he peaked early) and an anemic offensive attack. There's your oxymoron for the day. No one scares you in their lineup. Rowand will strike out at least 170 times, trying to be "the man". He is delusional wanting to leave the Phillies.
The old adage of all teams will win 54 games, and lose 54, it's what you do with the remaining 54 games that will determine your fate. I predict the Giants will lose at least 46 of those remaining 54 games, and have a 100+ loss season. Why did you leave the Padres Bruce Bochy? You had such a great gig! And I will be purchasing my 2008 Extra Innings package from Cox Cable to see my prediction through. We dumped the Direct TV dish after last baseball season.
And if there is a higher power up there, the Cubs will win the World Series. 100 years of torture is long enough. If they don't even come close, Pinella must go. I don't feel he is going to be the guy that gets them there.
