For potential new friends
So let's make things clear before we go any further:
I added you to my friend's list:
Chances are good I found you somewhere, liked what you write, added you. There are four possible paths this can take:
1. I read you 2-3 days, decide you don't entertain me so much, and delete you.
2. You add me before I delete you and we make contact somehow. I will most likely keep you.
3. You don't add me back so I take you off my list because I feel like I am intruding.
4. Even though you don't add me back, I am literally in love with your journal and keep you around.
You added me to your friend's list:
1. I WILL look at your journal. I WILL try to find out a little about you. I WILL read your profile and recent entries.
2. I *might* add you back, depending on whether I am interested in reading you or not.
3. If I don't add you back, don't be insulted. You can keep reading me of course! Chances are I'll regularly go over and read you anyway.
4. Give me some time before you think I won't add you back. I have a life too! ;o)
5. Try to make contact, please! Just a little 'Hello, I added you' is nice!
If you're thinking about adding me:
1. Do not expect comments from me to all your entries. Only very privileged people get that from me (read "barely anyone"). Also I only comment if I have something to say. So what if I go months without commenting in your journal? The point is I have nothing to add, it doesn't mean I don't read you.
2. If I add you back, I like having some interaction with people on my friend's list. I don't care whether you comment or not, but I will be more inclined to read your journal if I feel we have some sort of connection. This could simply be acknowledging my comments in your journal once in a while (nothing I hate more than commenting in a journal, asking a question and never getting feedback).
3. No flaming. 'nuff said.
4.Don't keep me on your friend's list if you don't read me at all. I'm not some sort of social statement, or zoo animal. I promise I'll do the same for you!
5. Don't stalk me, insult me, harass me or do anything stupid if I take you off my friend's list. That's just rude.
