Religious ramble filter

First o' all, a very happy birthday to confrontation, who turns 15 today. Wish we could go out and do something for her, but none of us really wants to venture outside unless we have to, due to the fact that it is ABSOLUTELY PISSING BUCKETS.

I haven't been having much luck getting decent debate out of the Why Won't God Heal Amputees? forums; the people there are nice enough, but seem to have little ability to stay on topic, and to actually respond to what you said rather than responding in the MegaHALesque manner of seeing a common religious debate "keyword" and rolling off into their own particular pet theory on said issue regardless of its relevance to the actual question.

So, spurred by raki, here's a filter call. I know there are some people on the flist who feel uncomfortable when I rant about Christianity and what I believe are its shortcomings, and since I'm not sure who on my flist holds what position, and who would actually be interested in hearing said vents -- if you're fine with listening to me rant on or debate the merits of religions, particularly Christianity, respondeth thou with a comment. I'm perfectly happy for people who support Christianity to be on the filter -- I mean, ideally I'd like not to have a filter at all -- as long as they don't mind the fact that my stance towards the Bible, and towards a lot of the more vocal practitioners of Christianity and the ends people have gone to in its name, is rather negative.

...Sadly, I've apparently lost a lot of the best religious quotes I was collecting to an unsaved (hoho) Notepad window; I need to trawl back through History....

Anyway, yuss. Comment to be added to the filter, and all that. Plus, if there're any religious topics you'd particularly like to see me discuss (e.g. "What's your standpoint on...?"), or debates you'd like to throw my way, feel free to suggest; prompts are always happy things.

religion, asuka
