Outer space is vast and desolate. What's disconcerting is the abnormally large distances between objects in space, on the order of magnitude of millions and billions of light years. What lies in the spaces between subatomic particles and between the spaces, and between those spaces? Is it some sort of universal tapestry that fosters connection, or is there simply a series of oases on a sprawling, unfathomable desert? (Fitting that this is posted on LJ).
Are human beings any different than quantum particles, relying on probability and statistics; attraction and repulsion; forces that clusters us together or tear us apart? Do we flit? Or do we align more with the gravitational force, pulling a resonant being along a smooth continuum and through some unknowable mechanism?
Do we notice the emptiness of the spaces, or are we oblivious to them on our journey to new beginnings?
