I've been coming over here to read, but had NO idea I hadn't posted in nearly a week. How'd that happen?
So let's see...to update a bit, I've had the creeping crud for about a week now. Missed two of the three activities I had planned on doing last weekend (a party and a music benefit for a sick friend). Did go out to brunch with some visiting out of town friends because we had made reservations, and then on the spur of the moment we went on the Christmas tour at the Biltmore House,
http://www.biltmore.com/ which is more walking than I'm used to doing, and between that and being sick, it really wore me out. Actually, it wore out the other four people too, so we skipped the aforementioned benefit and instead went and sat in a coffee shop until it was time for them to hit the road. I then came home and collapsed.
I called in sick Tuesday, just couldn't go anymore, but other than that I slogged through the four-day work week, then gave in to being sick. With a holiday weekend coming up and snow in the forecast (at least it was at that time), I decided not to fool around, just in case this was something that required treatment, so was seen in our clinic and learned that I've merely got "a really nasty virus" that's been going around. Doctor's orders: Push fluids and use nasal saline. And so it goes. Apparently I'll feel better by early next week.
Meanwhile, I may or may not go to my mom's tomorrow for Christmas. We talked about putting it off until New Year's Day, but that was before the weather forecast changed. As it stands now, it'll depend on how I feel tomorrow morning. If I had to make the decision based on how I feel right this minute, I'd be staying home. However, I've been a slug all day and have been babying myself, so maybe that will get me over the hump and enable me to keep my mom from being alone on Christmas (my stepdad is visiting his family in Illinois and Mom stayed behind so I wouldn't be alone).
Hope everyone who reads this is having a lovely holiday season! And to those who celebrate Christmas, a very merry to you! :)
