It's too cold to go outside, so I spent my day off sorting through my mp3 collection to separate the wheat from the chaff and clear up some HD space. In so doing I discovered that 90% of my Bach is performed by Glenn Gould, and also that 100% of that portion sucks. They're "interpretations" but only in the same way that running a sentence through babelfish into Spanish and back is, eg:

I also watched "Adolescence of Utena" the full movie length accompaniment to the marvelous anime series "Utena", without subtitles. Luckily for me, this series tends to convey it's ideas through imagery rather than words, much like dolphins. The lesbian themes are much more overt here, but not in some sweaty, gropy way; the artwork is so geometrical and graceful at any rate that if the characters ever tried to grope each other they'd probably just end up impaling each other on their stylistically sharp faces and then snapping each other like gilt twigs.
