A simple fanvid I made last min of scenes from V6's videos that have left an impression on me. Hope you'll like it~
I've almost left JE behind now. The 2 biggest reasons are probably time, and the unjust they create in the Japanese music scene and charts. I've always felt it was a pity that Japan, having so much to offer in terms of good music and talented producers, have to satisfy themselves with boy and girls bands to top the country's music charts. I'm fine with these bands existing because they bring in the lulz and looks, but they shouldn't touch the preciousness of what is real music. It actually pains me just to look at the discrepancy of earnings and sales of Japan's music artists, because it also is a reflection of the society where such a situation would thrive in. Maybe I should add in a 3rd reason, most of JE are too sophisticated and a little over the top crazy for me to keep liking.
Where does V6 come into this? :) They fail at sales and stardom but keep doing their thing. And their thing is giving their all, trying their best, improving themselves and cutting the slack on trying to be too sophisticated. That's probably why they aren't so attractive to many people, but perhaps Johnny Kitagawa brought them together to appeal to people like me. (Cunning old man that one!).
Each year, I become more aware of the reasons I enjoy following this group. And I've come to realise one of the biggest factor is because by luck or chance, they became to be part of the wonderful concept of Gakkou e Ikou MAX!, mostly the segments where they visit students and the variety of out of classroom activities we, as the audience, get to learn about. Or even the different paths other than standard classroom studying some youths decide to take. Those are probably the best times of student life and the best places to learn skills that will shape a successful future. I'll always appreciate V6 for the effort they put in into advocating and encouraging young people. And then they went on to do Shinchishiki kaikyuu kumagusu, which although I never understood much of what was going on, it featured people who had passion. Passion is an admirable quality, at least in my books, no matter how small the subject. And to show these people a little recognition leaves me all the more appreciative. V6 probably weren't given much choice behind what their shows would be about, but by luck and chance, they met such people through they shows and maybe some of it has rubbed off them (let the girl dream ok ^^).
I hope all 6 of them have no regrets when they look back at their 15 years of career together or even with their solo activities. And I sincerely wish they have found their niche and passion in this industry, and continue on with what they love and enjoy. As a group, V6 has existed for 15 years. 15 years of comradeship, fortunately not a comradeship in war, but a comradeship fighting against time. But if they are willing, another 10 more years shouldn't be a problem.
If you've read enough of my wishy-washy posts on this journal, I've repeated myself many times. But since it's a special day I should overflow myself with gratitude. haha. But seriously, V6 is my guilty pleasure. I owe them the simple pleasures of a few mins of terrible mind-tiring days. If they didn't exist, I probably will have something else to distract me, but here they are, and they cheer my day.
It's been hectic lately. I've moved to the next rotation which is Gastro & General Surgery. Surgeons are not normal people. They love to get up early and have no life. I start at 7am some days and finish at 7pm some days. And if the registrars have their surgical tutorial at 7.30am than their ward rounds are at 6.30am. They are not your everyday humans seriously XD
And my mum was here for 2 weeks. It was awesome as always ♥
My apologies for not commenting often lately. Especially to
fluidcomplexity, I leave comments with questions and never actually reply again. Hopefully you haven't realised =P
chou_0724!!! I received the posters long time ago. They are wonderful and so pretty. Thanks for the multiple copies too. I can pin one up and keep the other safe XD *hugs so tightly*
Yuzu's new single on 1st of December. And the preview is out early! This time the track is a composition by Iwasawa Koji. And wow, it's soothing and beautiful ♥ (I wonder what the lyrics mean...) XD
