Johnny's Countdown 2008-09
Watched the countdown yesterday. Thank goodness V6 and Tokio were there too. Sadly, Tackey & Tsubasa couldn't make it together. But it was their year of solos in 2008, I'm really happy they can manage alone, and it seems they really enjoy their individual projects, which is great!
Arashi are hosts again. With their singles doing so well last year, their faces looked as bright as a bubble. Countdown is the time I catch up on other Johnny songs released throughout the previous year. That means songs from V6, News, Kanjani8 and T&T are already familiar to me but those of Arashi, Kattun, Tokio, Kinki Kids etc. now would probably be the first time I'm listening to them.
Step and Go/Arashi - On behalf of the other groups, I'd like to say that Arashi are so lucky to get good songs to sing. It's unfair to blame the groups if their singles sound horrid, because they don't compose the songs themselves and probably have no control over what they release. Similarly, Arashi can't take the credit for having good songs because they have no control over what they sing either. So they are lucky! Step and Go is nice.
News, Kanjani8 and Kattun appear next in that order. I think Ryo himself knows this, he is privilleged to be in two groups. Not sure what he did to get such good karma for such an opportunity that no other Johnny has got. Except you shouldn't be wearing that blue pants, it's terrible. But its definitely better than appearing in bathrobes like the other K8 members.
Screen shifts to Takki in another venue. So handsome!! So chic!
Kinki Kids in Osaka. Kochi has sleepy eyes as always. And he drawls when he speaks. Sometimes I want to shout 'cut the acting'!
Tokio in the bus on the way to the venue. They are a cool gang of real men. REAL men! Fortunately no gayness in that group.
hahahaha V6 eating soba!! I've read about what they were saying on Chinese blogs. Arashi: What are you doing??!! Nagano: We are eating soba!! Arashi: What?? Hurry up and get here! Ken: huh? Inochi the chef, so professional. Ken and Go waving together. Okada trying not to smile at the corner. It's 10 minutes to 12 the clock says.
Don't U Ever Stop/Kattun - Nice song! I think this is what I should do, refrain from watching their PVs and maybe I'll like what they sing. Ueda doesn't look half as bad then usual for some reason, maybe its to do with being beside Kame's ultraperm hair. Acutally half the members are having some kind of bad hair day.
Lips/Kattun - Just the title alone makes me feel sick. But the song is alright. I'm guessing I shouldn't waste my time finding out the meaning of the lyrics though.
Taiyou no Namida/News - When I hear this song, I think of Ryo's hair then. I miss it :D I like their black jackets, but I hate their pants. When is Yamapi going to get rid of that perm?! The song, I kinda like it.
Summer Time/News - I want to complain, how come the camera doesn't focus much on Massu? that's not fair. This is my fav song from them last year.
Happy Birthday/News - Bad PV, but the song tends to grow on you.
Wahaha/Kanjani8 - Awesome song. haha.! Hina, he used to be my second fav after Ryo. But I dislike Toda Erika, so I'm not sure what to think of him anymore. I hope they are happy though if it's true. Yoko's hair!! I think if he, Yamapi and Koyoma stood next to one another, I wouldn't be able to tell them apart~
Musekinin Hero/Kanjani8 - I didn't like this song. Never understood why it sold so well. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say maybe the coupling songs were good (?) Ryo smiling so brightly ^_^
Mayonaka no Shadow Boy/HSJ - Yamada is overrated! But it's a cool song. Yuuto is growing up so handsomely. I was trying to spot Hikaru to no avail.
One Love/Arashi - Love love love this song. There's some kind of traditional oriental feel to the chorus. Really awesome! Makes me feel like dancing under falling petals or something.
Countdown!!! 3, 2, 1.. balloons!
Happy Happy Greeting/Kinki Kids - The songs they sang this countdown are boring!! I can't believe all their singles have reached no.1 on the oricon charts. I'm trusting the charts less and less now. Their voices are not even good. Both sound like they are constipated. Kochi is lucky to be celebrating his birthday at the countdown every year though.
Glass no Shounen/Kinki Kids - this is an exception though. Their debut song, I have a soft spot for debut songs. But I'm pressing the fast foward button from here.
Daybreak/??? - Uchi...? Why is he here? He's outfit reminds me of Paris models on the catwalk. Sorry, this is the first time I'm hearing him sing, but it doesn't sound right. Maybe he is nervous...?
Next is Arashi's super hit medally because this year marks their 10th annivesary. Awww... time flies. Although I don't seem to have affinity with this group, no attraction to pull me into their fandom, but they are undeniably a close, friendly bunch of people. 10 years together means a lot.
A.ra.shi/Arashi - nice! the rapping is cool. I heard this last countdown too. Debut song right? I have a soft spot for it.
Sakura Sake/Arashi - My first ever song from Arashi. First of the first!! Not sure how, but this song brought me into the fandom. Loving it still! I see Nino/Kame.
Love So Sweet/Arashi - HYD theme song. Jun/Ryo. Ryo looks scared :D very cute! Nino/Kame, Ohno/Jin. Arggh.. Jin, looks like he forgot to take a bath. Aiba/Yamapi
Happiness/Arashi - I remember this from last year's countdown too. Kanjani8 are as hyper as usual. Arashi got some of their craziness. Jump and jump. But I don't exactly like this song much.
Truth/Arashi - Very nice too!! Ohno sang solo a bit. I've never understood the hype about his voice and dancing. They look and sound like any Johnny boys.
Beautiful Days/Arashi - Ryusei no Kizuna theme song. I haven't finished the movie. I don't feel excited to know the ending but I'll try to finish it soon. The theme song is sweet.
???/Matchy with Question? -Tsubasa!!! eek.!! haiz.. your hair :( but Tsubasa is looking good. He and Okada is tad bit similar. Cool, quiet and handsome!
Made in Japan/V6 - Finally what I've been waiting for. Massu and Junno doing backflips and somersaults!! Massu is soo cute. And did I say Junno is my fav in Kattun, I love his smile. V6 appears!!! Looking good in suits. I'm ignoring the squirrel tails they are wearing as ties. *claps hands* woohoo!! They look so good!
Light In Your Heart/V6 - Nagano's ultraman theme song. V6 are the best dances as a group in Johnnys. Always in sync, looking their best. *fans self* I'm a bit lost for words. I'm just so happy to see that they appeared. haha.
Sorafune, Amagasa/Tokio - I love Sorafune. I'm so disappointed with Subaru's voice and what's with Jin. I've heard rave stories about their wonderful voices. Their singing can't be compared to Nagase. The difference is glaringly obvious. Poor things. I was shock!
Ai.Ge Ming/Takki - Not a fan of his voice but I appreciate the way he concentrates and sing all in tune when he performs. The choreography for this song was stunning. The falling water, scrolling words, his short speech in the beginning, well done. The song is okish, the flying was so pretty, especially the ending when Takki flew through the water!
Daita Senorita/Yamapi - Inochi is the probably the MVP of this countdown. I laughed so hard during this performace. Tsubasa is a great dancer. Yamapi, Jin and Jun are slutty so they fit with this song well. I'm glad to see Inohara didn't. I"m sure he did it on purpose, to create laughs as he always do. Tsubasa did well to cover up he's amusement, or not. I enjoyed this very much!
????/??? - My favourites!! Ken, Junno, Aiba, Yamaguchi. The rapping part is cute although I have no idea what song is this. I know I know, Ken is glaring short in this one :D
Love you only/Tokio - Tokio's debut song? My soft spot for debut songs come into play here. I saw Hikaru!! finally. The best part about this performance: the 3 members of the Soba ni Iru group together - Nagano , Massu and Hikaru!!
Real Face/Kattun - Maru was crazy. He did the rap. I see Go!! I dislike Shige, but his hair here is nice. Don't change back to that mohawk please!!
Weeek/News - Sakamoto is too old to sing this song. He tried his best :D Everyone looked hyper though. Yasu/Sho, Aiba/Koki.
Seisun Amigo/Pi&Kame - I'm so glad to see Okada and Nagase giving that look "Why am I here?". haha~ Ryo and Nino didn't know the steps either. It's so good to watch them acting like idiots. Kame sings until his veins are about to pop out.
Ai Nanda/V6 - I've never heard this song before. Like it!! Hina and Ohno competing to see who has the least expression on their face. Tegoshi (I realised I had forgotten he was in the arena) and Ueda, the two girls. Their hair made them look like twins.
????/??? - Everyone singing together on a turning wheel. Uchi looked like a flower girl next to Tsubasa. Ryo all fruity yellow next to Jin. He is such a such a handsome guy. Not Jin, I mean Ryo. Wahaha..!! Inochi and Kokobun are hilarious~ Jun looked especially good that night. He powdered up his face nice and white. Except his shiny outfit reminded me of Michael Jackson.
Talking parts which I didn't quite understand because of my crappy Japanese next! Before I round up this post, Junno doing his gag!! I've always wondered why he is in Kattun. I would totally fangirl him if he wasn't. His smile is like Massu's, bright and shiny :D I love it when he does his gags. So cute! I think in generally, I like guys with a nice smile!
