I was grading quizzes tonight, and I realized that I talk to the students as if they were (out loud) there while I'm grading their work. I find it kind of cute, myself, but I sometimes say things to the students that I wouldn't say to them in real life (rarely, like "How did you miss that one?") or without other studentss around (like "Go Ali!" or ( Read more... )

Give it a year or two ... you'll say those things to their face, and more. :)

I was uber-frustrated with my 5th graders yesterday. They did a project for like 6 weeks, and were given the rubric AND A+ examples in different formats. (THey were allowed to choose poster, commercial, or brochure, so I made an A+ version of each).

HOW CAN YOU IGNORE ALL THAT, GET A "C" AND COMPLAIN TO ME?!??!!

So I was saying all KINDS Of not nice things. I used to feel bad. Now I get mad when other grades pull up their report card grade.

Perhaps i'm just mean. ;)
