So
jasonwert got me thinking with his post
about the Chernobyl dead zone. I quickly googled nuclear, power plants, factories and warheads in the US and more importantly around the people I love. During my search I found oodles of information about the various volcanoes (in my back yard) that are going to blow. In fact, just last Wednesday had Mt. Hood and
the regional seismic network had detected approximately 100 earthquakes ranging in magnitude up to about 1.5. And, if that's not bad enough, the Yellowstone supervolcano has erupted regularly over the past 2 million years at intervals of about 600,000 years. The last time was about 640,000 years ago, making another eruption "imminent" in geological time. Scientists warn that this
supervolcano could blot out the Sun and bring a global winter.
So yeah, my advice is to default on your student loans now. For real, buy some pogs or something, but live it up.
