NYE pre-party

Dec 30, 2009 20:32

Last year, Logan hadn't enjoyed New Years Eve. ...Well, okay, he'd enjoyed being dragged to bed and screwed, so drunk that he had no inhibitions at all... But the rest of the night had sucked. Jack had danced with everyone but him. He'd kissed House and been his usual flirty self. It had been painful and upsetting- and this year Logan wasn't going ( Read more... )

Jack came in clean and dry with new clothes carefully folded into a bundle. Of course, the first thing he saw was his knife holding a piece of paper to the wall. He sauntered over and read it, then read it again. A curious, perplexed expression settled over his features and he turned his head to look along the line of his shoulder at Logan.

"You really felt the need to write this stuff down and stick it to the wall?" he asked...even though a couple of them were things he did need to be told. He wasn't sure he could keep from punching House if he saw him.

"Well, you do have a history of kissing House at parties, and I have a history of being left in a corner while you flirt and dance with everyone but me... So yeah, it needed to be said. It needed to be put on the wall," Logan scowled, poking the wood too hard and slumping away from it when the log split and popped loudly.

"Okay," he conceded with a shrug, leaving the list posted where Logan had stuck it. "But it's not like I'm going to hang on you. I like parties. I like seeing people I don't usually see."

He shifted the bundle from one hand to the other and smiled, that dazzling, charming smile of his.

"I swear I won't kiss House or Scotty. Maybe Helen, though, but that's just Helen," he said, distracted as he thought about that for a moment. Helen would probably track hm down at midnight. She always did.

"...Anyway, I'm going to get dressed. Are you going to be ready to go?"

Logan wanted to point out that he didn't care as long as it wasn't at midnight, but he left it alone, nodding as he got to his feet.

"I just don't want to be ignored all night until you're ready to go home. ...I swear, it's like you don't want to be seen with me," he frowned, getting to his feet and slipping his hands into his pockets.

"...Just pick out one of my suits and I'll put it on," he sighed, already anticipating a lonely night. It was hard to get excited when he knew he was going to spend the night being reminded of how many people adored Jack... and how many people didn't even know he existed.

At least there would be booze.

Jack went upstairs after giving Logan a nod. It didn't take long and he came back down. He held one of Logan's nicer suits in front of him. When he laid it carefully over the back of the sofa, he was far more casually dressed...in that he wasn't wearing a suit. Just a crisply pressed white shirt and a blue tie that went nicely with his eyes. He had on navy trousers, also sharply pressed, and in the breast pocket of his shirt were his glasses.

"I'm not going to ignore you all night," he said in reply to Logan'a earlier comment. "And I have no problems being seen with you, Logan. I thought you were the one who didn't like me hanging on you or holding you hand."

Logan took in what Jack was wearing, his eyes going wide as he noticed the glasses. His gaze flickered to Jack's face, and he wondered, silently, if this was Jack's idea of payback.

It wasn't fair, and is body reacted before he could stop it. Memories of dreams he'd had rushed forward, and he swallowed hard as he focused on putting on his suit.

It was his pinstripe one, very old fashioned with a hat that matched. He'd never worn it, but when he'd found it in the box, he'd found himself needing to take it. Like it was calling to him. It made him look like a young gangster, all ego and mouth.

"I like it, okay? I just- It's different now. We're married," he said as he started to undress.

Sliding his hands into his pockets, he watched as Logan stripped to put on the suit. He smiled, but it was soft and knowing. He'd taken what the box had given him, but he was keenly aware of what effect it would have on Logan.

"Touche," he said with a short nod. He stood perfectly still for a moment, then turned on his heel so he could stroll over and read the list again.

"So...you really think I was going to be having sex with people who aren't you?"

"I was trying to cover all my bases," Logan replied, buttoning up his shirt as he spoke.

"Here's a better question. ...Why are you wearing that? Why do you need your glasses?" he asked, narrowing his eyes as he slipped on his tie and jacket.

"Because it's what the box gave me," he answered simply, then flashed a wicked smile. "And I like how you look at me when I wear my glasses. What is it they say? 'No one makes passes at boys who wear glasses?' Something like that."

"Right, and it's got nothing to do with a confession I might have made about dreams involving you dressed like... that," Logan replied, rolling his eyes and buttoning his cuffs.

"Better make sure I don't get too drunk. Wouldn't want to slip up and call you something that'll make your dick wilt," he added, smoothing his jacket and straitening up.

"Maybe you're not the only one worried about kisses and sex," he said quietly, moving closer to smooth Logan's shoulders and lapels.

"So I dress how you like. So sue me. I could go change...I could wear my tux like I do every year..."

"You're worried about me? Why would you be worried about me?" he asked, scowling a little, but catching Jack's arm to make sure the other man didn't go and change.

"Because. Because you could have anyone you wanted if you decided you really wanted them. And you look good. Really good. And...and because..."

Jack shrugged.

"Maybe I just wanted a little insurance that once you've got a few drinks in you, you're not going to see someone you like more than me, even if it's just for tonight."

"There's no one else. It doesn't matter how many drinks I have, okay? I could drink a whole bottle of hyper vodka, and it would still just be you. It's always you," Logan assured the other man, stepping a little closer.

"...You do look good though," he admitted, pulling Jack's glasses out of his pocket and slipping them on carefully for the other man. "I prefer the uniforms, but this... this is a nice change."

It took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the lenses he only used for reading, but this close he had no problem seeing Logan- and in sharp detail.

"I think you should skip the hyprvodka this year," he said softly. With Logan so close, there was really only one thing he could do. He leaned in and kissed him, sucking softly on his lower lip.

Logan hummed into the kiss, slipping his arms around Jack as he leaned in to encourage more.

"But I liked it. I know I got nasty after, but... I liked it. It felt good. I felt... Free."

He kissed Jack a little harder and moaned.

"Or we could skip the party and just get naked," he purred.
