I'd gotten bored, so I decided to make a Glee picspam of my Top Five Group Performances, and my Top Five Solo performances. Feel freel to steal the idea if you'd like.
Top Five Group Performances
"Don't Stop Believing": Pilot

This is what was used in all the promos before it aired, and is what got my excited for it, initially. I've loved Journey since I was little, and there's few songs more memorable than "Don't Stop Believing". Once I saw the pilot, it immediately became one of my favourite performances. I tear up nearly every single time.
"Somebody To Love": The Rhodes Not Taken

While not my favourite episode because I really don't like Kristin Chenoweth, this completely made up for it. It was the one big performance I was looking forward to after "Don't Stop Believing". You can't really go wrong with Queen. (Well, you can, but I don't feel like talking about American Idol) A little sad they cut Kevin's verse(s), but it was to be expected, it's a long song.
"It's My Life/Confessions": Vitamin D

I can't describe how much I love this. I didn't think these two songs could go together so well, but they really do. And this has everything I love: Cory and Kevin on lead vocals, kick ass choreography (what up Harry Shum!), and some pretty awesome lighting. It's one of the most fun to sing along to, actually and pretend that I'm anywhere close to as good a singer as Kevin.
"Proud Mary": Wheels

I'll be honest, I was a little wary of this. Just because I truly hate the Tina Turner version, which is unfortunately the version everyone thinks of first, so I figured that's what they'd do. And it was the version they did, but it's vocally amazing. And again, Kevin (and Amber and Jenna) on lead vocals. We seeing a trend yet? :[ But I think this is so innovative and cool. Who else would come up with choreography all in wheelchairs? It's clever, dancing in wheelchairs to "Proud Mary", but in context it's also incredibly sweet, as a show of support for Artie (and I love that Finn's "This one's for you, Artie!" is on the studio version as well as in the episode).
"You Can't Always Get What You Want": Sectionals

I am so proud of them for this. Cory sounds better than in any other song, he's come a long way from "Can't Fight This Feeling". And Kevin manages to outsing everyone with two seconds of riffing. In the context of the show, the kids come up with this practically on the spot, entirely unrehearsed. Though, I think my favourite part is Jayma and Matt. Their FACES OMG. I love how proud they (Emma & Will) are.
Top Five Solo Performances
"Dancing With Myself": Wheels

If you hadn't noticed by now, Artie's my favourite character. He's a geek, got the biggest heart out of the entire group, and loves music pretty much more than anything. Well, and then there's Tina. ;) And for being a geek, a "loser" who's in the Glee Club, and being in a wheelchair, he should have absolutely no self esteem. But that's not the case at all, he's actually incredibly confident and comfortable in his own skin. There are moments of emo!Artie (that are rightly deserved), but they're actually few and far between. As for "Dancing With Myself", I was a little thrown off by the arrangement at first, but it grew on me really quickly. I love Kevin's voice on this. And the slow-motion in the middle, with the food fight and him watching Tina laugh, is just about the coolest/sweetest thing ever.
"I'll Stand By You": Ballads

I've always loved this song, and I have a tiny bit of an emotional attachment to it that I'm not going to go into here. Different fandom. But this.. Cory sounds really good (I think they finally knocked off with the autotune by this point). And it's incredibly sweet and heart breaking, in context. Finn singing to a baby girl that he's already in love with, eventhough it's not his daughter. The fact that he doesn't know is just even more heartbreaking. Also, love the interaction between Finn & Kurt.
"Don't Stand So Close To Me / Young Girl": Ballads
(click for bigger)
Um. There's not much to say about this other than it's really hot. I mean, Matt Morrison. Singing The Police. Uhn. Well, that and I have to laugh that they had to change nearly all the lyrics of "Young Girl" so it didn't sound... inappropriate. Oops.
"True Colours": Hairography

So, I think I'm cheating with this one a little. Jenna does sing lead throughout the whole song, but I suppose it's not necessarily a solo, as everyone in the group backs her. I, however, don't really care, and it's on the list. Because it's absolutely gorgeous. The song, the lighting, everyone and their different colours. And I love that there's little moments with everyone. Including Artie & Tina ♥
"Don't Rain On My Parade": Sectionals

There's not much I don't love about this. I like Lea. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to see the original cast of "Spring Awakening". But I've always preferred Lea singing pop songs - I didn't think her broadway voice was as strong. This proved me otherwise. I'm proud of her for this. As for in context, I love the way this is blocked - of Rachel starting from the back of the house and making her way up to the stage; flirting with Emma; introducing the rest of the Glee Club. It's a lot of love, and an outstanding performance.
