politics and procrastination

If procrastination by AMs is permissable, then it's fine for a PhD student to procrastinate too, right? Still, i don't quite aim to procrastinate for over 2 months, like the (newly-ish) elected AMs of Wales have. 2 weeks is okay though - isn't it?

So, Wales FINALLY has a new cabinet - a coalition cabinet at that. What's most amusing is the fact that the man who buried my paternal Nana (or at least, led the service anyway) is now the Minister for Heritage - for Heritage read arts, Welsh language, and sports in addition to CADW... should be interesting to see what happens with regards the deddf iaith - will we see a Plaid minister aving to defend a piss-poor Welsh language Act? I hope not. I also hope that labelling Welsh culture as heritage will not mean that we're encouraged to naval gaze again...

In other developments, I'm now officially a member of the Welsh literati - as well as being on the board of the Association of Welsh Writing in English (i'm in charge of the chequebook), I'm now actually confirmed as a member of the Editorial Board of New Welsh Review - first meeting is a week Monday and i'm bricking it already.

Right, back to PhD and the links between Zobole and Gwyn Thomas... there HAS to be a connection between the two men of Porth...
