It isn't a Fluke!

So, as today was the first day of my summer internship at a multinational corporation that designs and manufactures VERY HIGH TECH equipment, I've decided to use my good mood and finally start blogging about it. Of course, because I signed on with Kelly Services, I can't reveal specifics.

The first thing that comes to mind is I need to lose weight to get the pressure off my ankles and knees. I weigh an awful 194lb, 5'6" in height. Most of the weight is in this jiggly gut of mine. Ugh. It's gross. I wish I had a friend I could go to the gym every day with. It's so hard to exercise by yourself. My eating habits are actually okay, I just don't exercise that much. I need to if I'm going to be standing 8 hours a day.

Secondly, I'm Assembly. If you think 'assembly line' you are dead wrong. The entire bottom floor of the huge W shaped building is manufacturing. Places are organized into 'cells', each cell stocked with an abundance of parts. You assemble, test, calibrate, label, package, and ship the entire product to very exacting procedures that are well-written, with pictures, all within each cell.

I don't know very much about the products I've been putting together, but I do know this.
The first cell I worked in, the products were worth about 3-4 thousand dollars.
The second cell, the products were worth about 7k.
The last cell I worked in today, the product was about the size of a small laptop and was worth about 35-40k.

I. Love. This. Job.

Only thing that sucks about it is the location. I have to be up at 3:30am, leave by 4am to get there at 5am. I don't actually mind the dick-early schedule, it's just the long ass drive that bugs me.

Well, that's that for the first journal! Ta-ta!
