Good weekend gone terribly wrong.

We started the weekend on Friday at Williams Grove Speedway. We pulled pill #2 which set me on the pole of the second heat race. I led all ten laps and won easily. The top 12 qualifiers had to redraw for their starting positions in the feature, and I drew 3rd. Unfortunately, It began to rain just before our feature and it has been rescheduled to April 10th.

Saturday we traveled to Port Royal Speedway. I wasn't looking forward to going because of rain in the forecast, but we went anyway. Drew pill #14 which surprisingly put me on the outside pole of the second heat race. Just like the previous night, I immediately took 1st and stretched my lead to a full straightaway before things went horribly wrong.

I started to get tighter and tighter at the entrance to every corner, just barely turning the car before running out of track. Somewhere around lap 4, things got ugly when I the car absolutely refused to turn. I had adjusted the car to use all rear brakes and cranked the wheel in an attempt to negotiate the corner, but my efforts were in vain. I smashed hard into the turn three wall. Long story short, the car is junk. Today we're going to start disassembling the car and salvaging the good parts to be used over again (which isn't very many). Thankfully other than being a little loopy immediately after the impact, and having a really sore neck today, I'm just fine.

I may post some pictures later, but we'll see.
