2011 Scrapbook (2011?!!! Aack!)
Movies in 2011
0. The King's Speech, because it is awesome and awards season is in 2011 :D
1. Pirate Radio (01-01-11)
2. Despicable Me (Jan)
3. The Sting (Jan) (yes, I am admitting that it took me this long to watch this)
4. It's Complicated (Jan)
5. The Duchess (March)
6. The Runaways (March)
7. You Again. (April)
8. Ladron que roba a ladron. (April) AWESOME. FUCKING AWESOME. SAUL LISAZO Y FERNANDO COLUNGA Y AWESOMENESS. I really want Leverage to do "The Ladron Job" or "The Infomercial Job" or something :) Just hard to see Saul Lisazo as evil and, yet, really wanted him to lose in the end.
Television in 2011 (new/continuously watched shows)
1. Castle! (Jan)
2. Jekyll (Jan) - OMG incredible. Incredibly good. I said this about Timothy Hutton when watching Ordinary People last year and now I'm saying it about Gina Bellman: I knew she was good, I didn't know she was this good. She's incredible. No wonder the makers of Leverage saw this and wanted to cast her. Damn. Plus, James Nesbitt (Cold Feet!) - wow. I don't even like creepy, suspenseful movies and this was so good.
3. Hawaii Five-O (2010) (Jan) - I watch it for the scenery, theme song, pretty people (yes, in that order)
4. Doctor Who (Jan) - catching up. So much love. I'm finally able to watch all of series 5 after seeing the first two eps and the Christmas special. And I'm catching up on older eps -- Blink really is a kick-ass episode. BUT DAMN THE OPENER TO SERIES 6 - 'rehabilitation of Richard Nixon' - NOT COOL. WE'LL REHABILITATE MARGARET THATCHER, FOR FUCK'S SAKE, YOU JUST WATCH. Actually, you know what? Thatcher would be/is idolized here. Sigh. You know who rehabilitated Nixon? GWBush. Heh - the world's (or country's?) oldest man recently passed and, taking a page out of TWW (or the other way around), asked fav president: "Truman was good. All of them have tried to do good. Except that last one :D"
5. House (Jan)
6. Bones (Jan) (damn it)
7. White Collar (Jan)
8. Royal Pains (Jan)
9. Barely Legal (Jan) (damn it)
10. Jeeves & Wooster (Jan. finally) - PG Wodehouse, young Stephen Fry, and young Hugh Laurie FTW!!!
11. Downton Abbey (Jan) -- I can't believe I only caught the end of this; have to watch from the beginning now -- April! And now I have :D AND NOW I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SERIES 2.
12. LA REINA DEL SUR. (April) Wow this is. . .gritty. I may post my liveblog of the first few episodes. Kate del Castillo is entertaining, as always, but, wow. This has been going on for over a year? Yikes.
13. Burn Notice - The Fall of Sam Axe. (April) should be more embarrassed than I am.
14. Poirot (April) - I've seen a lot of Poirot, but I'm starting at the "beginning" -- I'm glad I know they get better. It's like actually reading Christie -- At Bertram's Hotel was the first book I (tried) to read and was horribly bored. After getting into the style w/ short stories, I went back to Bertram's and I loved it.
BOOKS. Books, damn it. Whoo hoo! That's right, even though they're, you know, what they are:
1) Heat Wave - "Richard Castle"
2) Naked Heat - "Richard Castle."
Don't judge me.
