today i passed my final written test. you know, the one for your drivers license. which means all i have to do is pass the driving test in the car. so, uhm, hooray? i should get my permit in a couple of weeks. my mom is already threatening to make me drive up to dallas, which of course is silly because i have never even moved a car in the driveway. she's just messing with me because she knows my driving paranoia. speaking of which, my weird paranoia seems to be spreading. i can't IM people anymore. i freeze up. same with the phone, but i've been like that for a while. and there are all these other things i get paranoid about constantly. it's making it really hard for me to do anything. oh well, at least it seems to be good for my writing, as i've three excellent ideas i can now ruin with my suckiness. 2 of them are really paranoid and the other is just kind of pretty and nostalgic. i'll try to write them soon, but i've been reading a whole lot of ray bradbury and i'm afraid i'll subconciously rip off his style, which is very recognizable. so i'm not going to read for a few days and then i'll try it. the only problem is that now that i've decided that, i keep feeling the urge to reread fahrenheit 451 again. and this morning i felt the urge to read the first chapter of something wicked this way comes for the initial descriptions of will and jim. ech. bradbury. excellent writer, but he's causing me a lot of problems.
and then today i read this stuff bill gates said about computers recognizing your face and playing what you want to see. and it brought back thoughts of what the google people said about personalizing search engines so when you type in something ambiguous they know what you're really looking for. and it's all sort of coming together into a fourth idea, although i wouldn't call it complete yet. i've decided to be superstitious and not write anything down for fear of making them stale or whatever. seemed like a good idea at the time.
the novel is still only halfway done. perhaps now that i'm done with drivers ed, i'll start working on it...
