"I am falling, I am fading, I have lost it all..."

YEEEESSSSSSSS!

I finally got bôa's album "The Race of A Thousand Camels." No, not the Korean Britney Spears, this is the group bôa from England, most well known for "Duvet," which was used as the opening theme to the anime series Serial Experiment's Lain. It arrived during my lunch break, and I was totally stoked! I had only been searching for a reasonably priced copy for, what, 10 years? How long has it been since Lain came out in Japan? I was hooked the first time I head "Duvet," and had searched out other songs through Napster (before they went legit), LimeWire, Morpheus, KaZaa, etc. and had only been able to come up with "Anna Maria" and some other songe that I can't recall at the moment. (Oh, yeah, it was "Welcome," track 9.) Really, it doesn't matter, since I've got the actual album imported directly from Japan.

They definitely kick major ass, even if they are Brits. I just can't believe that I've actually got their album in my hands, especially after all the years I've been looking for this rare album. It was only released in Japan, and even though they we a hit due to the success of Lain and "Duvet," I don't know how many copies of the album were pressed. There are a few video/music stores I've been to in Japan Town, and very rarely will I ever see a copy or two sitting on a shelf. Even then, they have the price jacked way up. In-store, I've seen prices from $40-60. There are a few more sources available online, but they're still asking for $40 plus $10 for import/shipping fees. Screw that, I'll stick to checking eBay obsessively. It actually paid off. I think it was something like $32 including shipping. It still seems like a lot for a CD, but given its rarity and my desire for the blasted thing, it's actually pretty reasonable.

Now, I just need to find their two albums that were released state-side, "Twilight" and "Get There," as well as the "Tall Snake" EP, and I'll be a happy camper.

"Happy Birthday Mike" anybody?

Don't worry, you've still got time.
