Okay, so not really. I had ordered the domestic release, limited edition box set of Mobile Suit (Kido[u] Senshi, for
kira_) Gundam Zeta, and it finally came in today. So, while this actually set me back a few bucks, the spirit of elation is the same.
The entire series of Z Gundam, 10 disks, plus the little collector's booklet, poster, and set of nine Gundam figures (why the hell they decided to make them into pencil sharpeners is beyond me), and it's all mine! I've been dying to get my hands on this ever since its release was first announced, but at first, nobody near by even carried it, and the initial price tag was $199.95 MSRP. Definitely not worth $200. BUT! What I paid was LESS than half price, even about 48% off what
RACS has it listed at, which is usually the lowest price you can find for legit domestic disks, not including other sites' sale titles. So, yeah, I'm content.
Plus, I finally watched 0080 in its entirety for the first time in a few years, since Cartoon Network last aired the 6-episode OVA. That, and I'm going to slowly build up the KSG W series, as well. I was bidding on vol 1 and 2, but someone snipped 1 at the last minute, but whatever. At 1/4 their original price per disk, I don't have to go in order. Annnnd... I was well on my way working through the remainder of Gundam Seed Destiny, after about a year's hiatus, and managed to snag an additional 10 episodes or so (bringing me to 30?) before the people who owned the wifi connection caught on and blocked off the line. (Hey, if you're going to get wifi set up in a dense residential area, and not set up a password or IP limiter, it's your own fault if people look at it like a hotspot for free broadband.)
I suppose I could look to
kira_ and ask him to hook a brutha up, but he has a hard enough time coming up with stamps as it is.
Guess I'll go dig in to Zeta now. Hmmm... 20 minutes per episode, times, what, 50 episodes? Damnit, I have to go in to work early tomorrow!
