I can't even express in words how awesome today was. It's been a long time since I've been overcome with so much happiness. So I woke up this morning at 5:40 am, cause thats when I set my alarm clock, and proceeded to shower and dress. I then had a little bite to eat before heading out to pick up Joana. I got to Joana's around 6:12 and we proceeded towards Porter Ranch to pick up Helen. We arrived at about 6:30 and then we were off. I called Jon to check his location and he wasn't that far ahead of us. So we ventured off towards the lovely Hollywood and Highland shopping/entertainment center. This kind woman helped us find our way to the line. When we got to the line, we noticed that it wasn't as long as Jon had made it seem over the phone. We were mistaken, apparently we lined up at the front of the line instead of the back, silly us. We then walked furthur down and saw that the line wrapped around the whole building. We quickly joined Jon and his his friends in line. The wait in line was pretty time-consuming, but it did not matter to us. We were excited! We waited and waited, singing her songs, eating, laughing. We were then informed that cameras and cell phones were not allowed. Hesitantly, Joana Helen and I went back to the car to put our belongings away. We stopped by the bathroom on our way back down, and on our way out we heard the most ridiculous comment. "She's so nice in person" said the loser whom was part of the "I love ashlee" tshirt club. It was so ridiculous that I couldnt help but comment by exclaiming, "Like you know!" out loud. The wait in line was excruciating, and the annoying stares from the Ashlee kids didn't help. The gentleman who had made the ridiculous and absurd comment before kept looking in our general direction. It was annoying. I had to go pee, and just as I got up they started letting people in. So immediately, I rushed back down to the line. We got up onto the steps and we were all cheering fanatically! We were given orange wristbands, and we looked at each other because we knew, or we thought we knew, that we were IN!! Sadly, the orange wristband which we had been burdened with were stand by wristbands. Only if the 40 VIP's didnt show up would we be able to enter the studio. We were quite upset, you could see it in our faces especially Helens.
to be continued !!! .. by the way .. 500pm ch. 11 FOX .. I'm on TV !!! watch when ashlee goes outside!!
cont.
So we all dispersed from the line and decided to just have a seat in the courtyard thing they have. You could tell that all of our fingers were crossed, and we all were praying that we'd get a chance to see her. Suddenly, Helen decided that she wanted to stand by the area where they were setting up the outdoor interview. So we all headed over there asking random people random questions like "Do the VIP's usually show up??" "Do you think we'll get in?" "Is Ashlee coming outside?" All the responses we got were quite vague but we still had hope that we'd see the lovely Ms. Simpson. Anxiously awaiting 11:00 we stood around crowding the ticket booth, listening in on conversations between the crew, getting harassed by the security. We didn't care. We wanted to see her. Then, as luck would have it, we heard the great news, Ashlee would be coming down with ryan at 12:20. Though we still had hope that we'd get into the studio, we were quite content with seeing her outside in the courtyard, which if I do say so myself, seemed more intimate. We sat around and waited some more, Helen got her space sort of stolen by this couple, and then we heard the news. No more room in the studio. We took it hard, but we were still glad that we'd be able to see her outside. Devastated yet optimistic, we waited to see her. Time passed by, and the show started. There was a lot of crowding, but we had a perfect spot in the shade. We watched the big screen as Ryan Seacrest interviewed Ashlee. All I could think of was her beauty, not just physically but her inner beauty as she seemed so down to earth. Commercial breaks came, and at the third one they announced that she'd be coming down to the courtyard. You could hear our hearts racing! Her father came downstairs, followed a little later by her and Ryan Seacrest. She's gorgeous. I'm shaking. Helen Joana and I are screaming, calling out her name in hopes that she'd see us. I'm holding my pen and the cover of her album. Ryan and her do their little interview, and throughout the whole time I'm screaming at her trying to make eye contact. She looks over at me during the interview and sort of gives me a nonchalant acknowledgment. I'm confused. Did she see me?! Was she looking at me?! I'm unsure, but I keep trying to get her attention. They lead into commercial break. Suddenly, she gets up. Stunning beauty under the hot sun. She leaps towards my direction, is she coming to me? Yes! Yes!! she is !!!! Straight B-line towards me. I'm shocked. In awe, I hand her my album cover and my sharpie. She signs it. I tell her I love her, and that I woke up at 4 this morning to come see her. She takes hold of both of my hands, and gives me a grin. She's saying thank you, and that it's so sweet. She even has a short conversation with Helen and grabs Joana's hands as well. I'm telling her I love her. In the end, I'm in awe. Helen and I look at each other. ''Did this really just happen?!'' Somehow she knew. Somehow she knew the despair felt in our hearts after being denied stand-by seats, and she had to make it up to us. Thus coming right towards us when she could've gone anywhere else around the enclosure. She knew that these pour Asian kids had gone through so much to see her, and somehow she had to make it up to us. Helen and I conclude that we're lucky, and that the song ''Pieces of Me'' sums up our day. We wait around some more, hoping to see her again. Even if its just on the jumbo screen. We sing along as she performs her hit. We're touched. I could tell that Helen wanted to stick around some more to see Ashlee walk to the parking structure, but the rest of the group was growing restless. I wouldn't have minded though, but we venture off in search of food. We had originally decided on Pinks but due to the extreme heat, long line, and lack of parking, we decide to hit up the famous El Coyote. Our waiter Jorge, was full of celebrity stories to fondle our feeble teenage minds. We're intrigued. We ask him many questions, and he kindly responds to each. The food was terrific, as usual. Jorge returns and tells us about Sharon Tate, the pregnant movie star murdered by the Manson clan. We're shaking. We finish our food, and leave our favorite new waiter a huge tip. Well, huge by our standards. Not Xtina's. We then part ways as Helen Joana and I listen to the entire Ashlee Simpson CD on repeat. We begin to appreciate the cd more, after meeting such an incredible person, and we totally can relate to the song ''Pieces of Me.'' We stop at Walmart on the way home. We pick up a some video tapes so that we can record the Ryan Seacrest show later. We're excited. Sadly, I fell asleep right when I got home, but woke up halfway through her interview. Just in time to see myself on tv. I look soo goofy. I don't care. I was in shock. In the end, I would have done it all over again. I guess we should just let fate take its course, cause it obviously worked out the best for us. This experience was a truly memorable one. I love Ashlee Simpson, and I thank her along with the rest of my friends who accompanied me for such a wonderful and memorable day.
Now .. for our next venture .. =)
P.S dont jock the .. ''Pieces of Me'' Day thing.
