The top seven things I loved seeing in Dubai:
7) People I know from Dubai tell me it changes so quickly that it's different every time they go back. I was only there for a week, a large patch of desert was empty when I went, and there must have been 10 buildings started by the time I left.
6) So much money. Finally, a reason to actually feel sorry for the United States.
5) It is full of people from literally around the world, yet it is easier to find someone who speaks English than it is in Toronto.
4) It is the next Hong Kong. What must be the commercial headquarters of every single big corporation you can imagine is in Dubai. Except Wal-mart.
3) An argument between an Arab and a Hindu. Funniest. Shit. Ever.
2) It must be a society where the rich demand everything. Wiping my ass was the only thing I could do without someone offering me assistance. And I never went into the really nice hotels.
And the number one.......
1) A row of four doors in the airport: men's washroom, women's washroom, men's mosque, women's mosque
