fantasy football
well kids,
it's that time again. football is just around the corner, you can smell it coming. rookies are signing onto teams, mini camps are startiing up. ricky williams is retiring, etc etc etc.
i am doing my third fantasy football league but this time it will be a little bit different. i will operate two leagues this year. i will have one with the usual style of playing (with a defensive team being your entire defense) and i will have one with actual players making up your defense. in this league you have 3 defensive roster spots to fill up they are DL LB and DB. so instead of having the baltimore ravens, you could get ray lewis, champ bailey, and michael strahan in your defense.
also this year, i got rid of the playoff trading that usually goes on between the upper tiered teams and the ones who missed the playoffs. no longer will marshall faulk be able to be traded to the good buddy of the last place coach at the last minute. this will significantly reduce the first come first serve kinda thing when it comes to trading towards the end of the dead line
now the part that you have to do.
first you must decide whether or not you will actually participate in this thing for the ENTIRE season. i do not want to have a 10 team league where only 8 people actaully update their rosters. i want all 10 to be seeking out trades, updating rosters, and all that. if you are not willing to do this, and you get in the league this year, you wont be invited next year to join.
next, email me at ecalvi@purdue.edu if you want in.
this will help out in weeding out the people that do not really want to join the league and will also prevent random users from joining the league. now i have a list of about 10 people whom i think will competively participate. so far 2 of them have joined, so if you wanna get a better draft pick get on the email thang.
in your email, tell me which, if not both of the leagues you want in, and i will email you back with the correct league number and password.
some people will be out of town for a while, and have already conveyed to me that they want to be in (this includes the dorso's alex's and ben's of the world, because you guys have told me you want to be in) and that will be noted on draft order.
once you are in the league, you make your draft list, and be sure to change your draft status to ready so i can make the draft sooner.
if there are any suggestions to how i am operating this, let me know. this was the best way i could figure out how to: giving everyone an equal shot, and finding out who the committed players are.
