So...it seems I have a gig with Chris Kirkconnell. For anyone who's interested, we'll be doing an acoustic set at The Cross and Key two weeks from today. He's a really great singer and songwriter, and I'd suggest you go see him even if I weren't going to be playing guitar for him.
The broom business continues to be good. Apparently the shaft work I did with all the metal went over well, because we've been getting more orders for the super-decorative stuff. On one hand, I enjoy getting to be all artistic and stuff. On the other hand, I feel slightly dirty for encouraging this culture of brooms that are more style than substance. I mean, they're not bad brooms by any means - perfectly serviceable. But why spend so much money making a very ordinary broom look very fancy? Spend it on speed or steering or braking or aerodynamics, not baubles. Of course, they are very shiny, and there's something to be said for looking really cool on your broom. I'm sure there's an element of that that appeals to most of us.
In other news...Lavender, Dean, is one of you giving my cat extra treats? She's ignoring her food, and you know she doesn't ignore food.

I hope that's all it is. She's seemed kind of off her normal mood, too. I know she's getting on, and it worries me.
